The Golden Spikes Scout Day in completed, we now take a look back at the standouts from yesterday's event. The Scout Day included a Pro-Style Workout where players ran a Laser Timed 60 Yard Dash, took a Batting Practice, Catcher Pop Times/Velocity, Outfield Evaluations/Velocity and Infield Evaluation/Velocity concluding with Pitches Bullpens. This was an exclusive event for players in the Golden Spikes program to highlight and promote players in their program.

The metrics collected at the Scout Day have been uploaded to each player's PBR Profile and we now break down the top statistical performers from the Golden Spikes Scout Day. This event features a handful of uncommitted upperclassmen including 2022 C, Dallin Smith, who swung it well from both side of the plate during the batting practice portion of the event, then posted a 1.96 Pop Time with each of his throws around the tag zone. After a successful showing at the Area Code ID Series, 2022 MIF, Sebastian Lopez, lead multiple categories including the 60 Yard Dash (7.18) and Infield Velocity (80 mph). Before turning it one of the, if not the, best round of the day during the batting practice session, 2021 1B, Chris Cascardo, produced the event's Top Exit Velocity at 92 mph. Then the Golden Spikes took the mound where 2021 RHP, Ian Roemer, threw an event best 83 mph Fastball Velocity with a very low effort delivery, also commanding his pair of secondary pitches. The Golden Spikes group has quickly become a highly respected group within the Las Vegas baseball community and these players are a big reason why.
