Game Recap: Sewickley Academy vs. Springdale

Sewickley Academy, the No. 5 seed in the WPIAL Class A playoffs, made short work of Springdale (No. 12) yesterday ending the Dynamos season with a 12-2 win in five innings. Derrick Littlefield, No. 190 in the PA Class of 2017, fueled the Panthers offense with a 3-for-4 day at the plate with a double, triple and three runs scored.
Senior RHP Joe Straka went the distance on 86 pitches allowing three hits while striking out eight. Straka also aided his own cause with a 2-for-3 day at the plate with two runs scored and a pair of RBI. The No. 2 through No. 6 hitters in the Panthers lineup combined for three extra base hits, nine runs scored and eight runs driven in.
Levi Hargenrader highlighted the Dynamos offense going 1-for-2 with a double, and RBI and a run scored.
