Future Games: Ty Acton

Brett Thorney
State Scouting Director

PBR Future Games is set for July 28th- July 31st

Prep Baseball Report's one-of-a-kind event will feature the best uncommitted 2023 prospects and select 2024 prospects from our 40-plus state coverage area. The Future Games will take place on July 28th through July 31st at LakePoint Sports in Cartersville, GA.

The Future Games is the premier summer scouting event for Class of 2023 prospects and select 2024 prospects. In a typical year, more than 320 college coaches from all over the country are in attendance. The event is huge draw for college with many of the top uncommitted players from across the country in attendance. The Prep Baseball Report services are also subscribed by more than 800 colleges and pro scouts. Last year, due to COVID, scouts weren't able to be in attendance but they were able to follow along through our online streaming platform that is hooked up on every field at this premier facility.

Players will also receive maximum visibility from college coaches all over the country, in addition to being promoted through the Prep Baseball Report multimedia platforms.

Each state team will play three games. Day 1, all position players will be put through a showcase workout in which they will run 60s, take batting practice and be evaluated at their primary position. The following days players will compete in live game setting vs teams & top players from other states.

2023 SS Ty Acton JOINS TEAM ARIZONA

2023 SS Ty Acton (Verrado)- We welcome Acton back to Team Arizona as he played in the PBR Future Games in 2020. He will come back this year with an added year of maturity that has shown through the spring and early summer. He has gained some strength in athletic balanced frame with even more room for gains in the future. The switch-hitter recently attended our 2023 Top Prospects Games and played in our West Coast Select where he continues show strong barrel awareness. His feel & comfortability in the box is noticeable on both sides of the plate. He has a similar approach from both sides although he has seen so many LH ABs over the last few months that he has a bit more leverage from that side right now. That should be fixed with added reps. Defensively, he has smooth clean actions and plays faster than his foot speed would suggest. Ball comes out short with arm strength & carry across the diamond. He even hopped on the mound at our 2023 TPG and ran his FB up to 87mph.
