Scouting Report

Futures Preview South (June 4th, 2017)
Andrey has a broad shouldered frame at 6-feet 200-pounds. One of the top prospects from the event. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.36 seconds, recorded an exit velocity of 87 MPH. At the plate, starts in a tall, slightly opened stance with hands above back shoulder. Hands/arms show some looseness and rhythm prepitch. Quiet lower half as pitch comes in, uses a foot stride to start swing. Hands load back minimally. Strong hands and upper body help produce some power. Defensively - took ground balls at 3B. Topped at 85 MPH across the infield. Clean hands, feet show some choppiness laterally. Throws had some carry and were on the bag at first base. On the mound, fastball topped at 89 MPH and sat mostly 86-88 throughout his outing. High-3/4 slot, short, quick and explosive arm action. Ball has natural armside run. Changeup is a nice complement to running fastball at 70-72 with fade. Finishes toward the first base side of rubber on delivery. Stiff front leg on landing, tall chest and upper body on release.

Underclass Games (September 18, 2016)
Andrey has a big bodied frame 5-foot-11 185-pounds. Showed arm strength very well in fielding evaluations. One of the top 2019s at the event. Pitching- loads well on his back side to help generate power and explosion toward home plate. Recoils at the finish of delivery, and gloveside falls after extension. Needs some polishing on the mound, but arms speed is apparent. Sat 82-83 mph with fastball and flashed a changeup with some armside run at 71. Offensively- starts in a tall, wide stance, with hands just above the shoulder from the right side. Uses a big stride to start load, hands stay stagnant. Starts with weight visibly on front leg/foot, transfers weight back as pitch comes in. Drifts slightly with hands, quickness to the ball through the zone produces some pop. Defensively- smooth transfer at 3B with average hands and above average arm across the infield. Throws were firm with backspin.

Winter Trials South (January 30, 2016)

J ake is a filled out 5-foot-11 180 pound SS/RHP that ran a 4.32 home-to-1B. Offensively- Jake sets up slightly open with a hand position up and off his back shoulder. Minimal loading action with hands while gaining ground with stride. Upperbody leads swing into the zone with a late lower half. Pulls hands through the zone well with a vertical finish. Exit velocity was 83 MPH. Increased lower half effort should make more less resistance in his swing path. Defensively- Jake gets his hands out in front and featured a fairly quick release. Demonstrated the ability to make plays on the run. Tends to leave glove side foot back, disrupting his shuffle step and causing for some additional footwork. Possible 2B/3B projection over the long term. Positional velocity was at 73 MPH but with more in the tank as witnessed on the mound. Plenty of upside for this 2019 grad. Pitching- On the mound, Jake uses a short side step with a knee drive just above the belt, sealing himself off from the plate with a slight coil. Arm action is long and slings through a low 3/4 slot with a squared up finish up and over his front side. FB sat 79-83 MPH, touching an impressive 84 MPH with late life. Stayed down and was in and out with command. Flashed a change up in the 71-72 MPH range with good arm speed. Did not show breaking pitch but when it's developed will most likely be in the slider format based on arm slot and hand speed. Huge upside on the mound.
