Future Games Spotlight - C Dominic Stephenson

Phil Kerber
Georgia Scouting Director

The 2022 PBR Future Games are less than two weeks away, and will be here in no time. With that being said, we would like to introduce you to this year's Team Georgia. We will roll out individual player spotlights with comments, video, stats, and more over the next few days.

A member of Team Georgia at the 2021 PBR Junior Future Games, C Dominic Stephenson (Harrison; USA Scout National - Gaskins) will now take center stage with Team Georgia at the 2022 PBR Future Games. Stephenson will bring plenty of intrigue as an advanced athlete behind the plate. At 6-foot-1, 168-pounds, he has clean, smooth actions in everything he does. He is not a one trick pony either, Stephenson can do serious damage with the bat. He takes a gap-to-gap approach with a clean swing. As he matures, the tools will only get louder. Stephenson will enter the Future Games as an under the radar prospect on the national level, but watch out for him to leave a lasting impression.

Scouting Report

6/15/22

6-foot-1, 168-pound right-handed hitting catcher, highly athletic with lots of room to fill out, clean runner, fluid strides, high follow prospect. At the plate, balanced setup with front foot slightly open, smooth rhythm, hands start near ear, drops hands and cocks barrel on load, short stride, great balance, gets to the same position consistently. Barrel path works short to the zone, quick hand speed allows for him to get out front and extended, letting his strength play. Gap-to-gap hitter with driving power, dynamic.  An athlete behind the plate, moves extremely well, plays through the ball with smooth footwork. Throws are true as he stays behind the ball with an over-the-top slot, 1.98 pop time.
