Four 2022 prospects in the national list

This afternoon, our national staff released the Class of 2022 overall rankings. Four Missouri prospects were named in the list.

No. 261 Jack Mosh, No. 476 Jackson Kline, No. 498 Jake McCutcheon and No. 499 Chase Beattie all appeared in the Top-500.

6/11/19

Mosh is a 5-foot-10, 165-pound, left-handed hitting middle infielder and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 7.00 second 60 and 5.45 home-to-first. At the plate, Mosh posted an exit velocity of 85 mph, starts open with stance, reverse toe tap, in line stride, high finish with hands, looks to lift at the plate, primarily fly ball contact to right field during round. Defensively, showed some athleticism, fluid footwork, momentum towards target, quick arm, clean exchanges, mostly accurate throws across the diamond with a positional velo topping at 80 mph. On the mound, Mosh has an athletic delivery, explosive lower half, hides the ball well, quick arm, high three-quarter release, gains momentum down the mound, generates downhill tilt with delivery, showed an effective mix of fastball and curveball during game action. Fastball is 77-80 mph, arm side run, curveball is 68-70 mph, late downward action, near fastball arm speed, thrown for a high percentage of strikes, changeup is 68-69 mph.

Kline is a 6-foot-1 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri's 2022 class.  He ran a 6.95 60 and a 4.45 home to first.  He had an 86 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, starts slightly open, slight rotation to load with smooth hand load, stride separates from hands, accelerates hand, quick bat speed with loose hands, range in swing with feel for barrel, gap to gap line drives during hitting evals, consistent hard contact.  In the out field, high three quarters arm slot, smooth transfer on time with momentum in footwork, fluid actions stays under control, athletic, mostly accurate throws, 77 mph positional velocity.

McCutcheon is a slender framed 6-foot, 165-pound, left-handed hitting middle infielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 7.19 second 60 and a 4.61 home-to-first. At the plate, McCutcheon posted an exit velocity of 84 mph, starts in an athletic stance, leg lift, in line stride, level bat pat, minimal head movement, showed primarily line drive and fly ball contact to right field during batting practice. Defensively, shows some athleticism, soft hands, glove tap from transfer to throw, plus range to glove side, accurate throws across the diamond, strong arm with a positional velo of 86 mph, prospect to keep an eye as he develops.

Beattie is a physical 5-foot-10, 205-pound, right-handed hitting infielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. At the event, he ran a 7.25 second 60 and posted an exit velocity of 94 mph. During batting practice, Beattie showed pop to all fields, lift to his swing, feel for his barrel, quite load, dives towards the plate with his stride, balanced swing, high finish with hands. On the infield, 84 mph across the diamond, quick transfer to throw, quick arm, three-quarter release, mostly accurate throws.

2/09/19

Beattie is an athletic 5-foot-7, 197-pound, right-handed hitting infielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 7.16 60 and posted an exit velocity of 92 mph. During batting practice, Beattie starts with an athletic base, minimal movement into his load position, quiet hands, in line stride, slight uphill bat path, showed pop during his round of hitting. In the infield, he showed good actions, fluid footwork, quick transfer to throw, short and quick arm action, momentum towards target, positional velo of 84 mph, very accurate throws.

10.13.18 - 5-foot-10, 190 pound right handed hitting third baseman, strong and athletic prospect. At the plate, balanced set up with closed front toe, short and smooth back with a slight wrap in load, stride is short with fluid leg lift. Creates explosive bat speed, slightly uphill bat path, consistent hard contact, gap-to-gap approach, 87 mph off of a tee. On the infield, athletic and fluid footwork, works around the baseball, reliable hands, clean, fluid exchange. Short, quick arm action, high ¾ arm slot, low throws but has carry, throws topped at 80 mph. 7.24 runner in the 60.
