Scouting Report

6/12/22

Physical: Athletic, pound for pound 6-foot, 176lb frame. 6.89 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Wider, even stance, as the hands operate from a good position to hit. Utilized a toe-tap stride to create stretch with plenty of separation available in the swing through an on-plane, flat path. Some lift present at times to the pull-side gap, producing a loud round which went down as a PR (98 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman). Recorded a 60% hard hit rate and dealt damage on pitches out over the plate in space.

Defensively: The outfielder showed off pre-pitch timing with a quick first step in either direction. Lower posture that could round on the ball using banana routes, bent downward over the chest at the touch with a soft glove hand. Notched an 80 mph throwing arm from a H ¾ slot and has been higher in the past.

2/27/22

Physical: Athletic, strong 6-foot, 185lb frame. Room to fill. 7.27 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Taller, even stance at shoulder-width, as the hands operated flat over the backside in rhythm. Utilized a leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a flat path towards a two-handed finish. Lots of barrel-whip present, and created a fly ball approach to the pull-side of the field during his round. Recorded a T91 mph bat-exit velocity and reached a 77 mph bat-speed at his peak. Feel to stay inside the ball by keeping the shoulder in on the first move.

Defensively: The outfielder bounced around to either side, chopping the feet with an accurate glove hand off the left foot. Moderate pace, projects to slot into a corner role down the road, using a full H ¾ slot at release (81 mph).

Pitching: RHP - Features some hip coil at the top of the stack and gets the arm up on time. Sat 76-79 mph, strikes, with more drive left in the backside. Mixed a lateral 63-64 mph CB that held depth, too, at times and filled it up at 75%. Good feel on a 66-68 mph CH up to 14 in. HM.

6/15/21

Physical: Athletic, even proportioned 6-foot, 175lb frame with room to hold extra strength. 6.86 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance with the hands starting low at the midline. Utilized a leg lift with a move back to the right side before connecting to the ground, using an on time rotation at the front of the plate and a flat bat path into the hitting zone. Showcased a whippy, accurate barrel that posted big time results during a solid batting practice round. A leveraged, pull side approach produced T94 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman while generating a 33% line drive rate and a 67% hard hit rate (batted balls over 90 mph). Ability to hold down a run-producing role anywhere from 2-5 in the order.

Defensively: The primary outfielder demonstrated easy, momentum-filled actions getting downhill through the baseball with a purpose. Advanced footwork creating easy hops and could run and go get it in the air. Notched an accurate, H ¾ arm at release with a smooth arm circle (85 mph arm) showing ability to handle any of the three OF positions moving forward.

2/27/21

Physical: 6’0 170lb OF/RHP ran a 7.38 laser time 60-yard dash. Solid physical build has some quick twitch movements and raw actions.

Offensively: Stands tall in his stance and loads down into his legs as his front foot strides out. Has a slight delay in his momentum before firing the barrel into the hitting zone. Barrel works up and around the ball.

Defensively: Uses hesitant stride approaching the ball. Catches the ball with two hands and creates momentum with a crow hop. Arm works from a whippy high ¾ arm slow.

Pitching: Slow windup has a slight coil of the hips to generate some power. Upper body drives the power throughout the pitch and arm whips through the zone.
