Marion 11- Trumann 0
Marion defeated Trumann 11-0 receiving a strong pitching performance from 2020 RHP Braeden Wolford and 2017 RHP Collin Carpenter. Wolford pitched 4 innings to pick up the win allowing just 3 hits while striking out 5, Carpenter pitched the final two innings to complete the shut out.
With the stellar pitching performance the Patriots offense wouldn’t need to do much to pick up the victory. The hitters didn’t take a day off, they pounded out 12 hits with four different players collecting multiple hits in the game. Hayden Hodge was a stand out on the day going 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored and a stolen base. Marion Stole 8 bases total in in the contest.
2017 RHP Garrett Wood picked up the loss for Trumann on the mound Wood pitched 5 innings allowing 10 hits no walks and struck out 5. Offensively Trumann had 5 players record a hit, just not enough strung together to challenge Marion.
