Draft League Spotlight: Zach Parish
May 19, 2021
Player: Zach Parish
Position: LHP
School: Missouri Southern
Though Parish sat out the 2018 season after transferring from Northeastern State, he made an immediate impact the following year, going 9-2 with a 2.85 ERA en route to MIAA Pitcher of the Year honors. In his three years with the Lions, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound lefty has posted a 2.23 ERA and 13.2 K/9 in 218.2 innings. In early May, Parish recorded strikeout No. 474 in his career to establish a new Division II record. Parish operates with only a 87-90 mph fastball, but features a four-pitch mix including a separator in a plus changeup that serves as a weapon against hitters on both sides of the plate.
