Draft League Spotlight: Logan Workman
February 23, 2021
Player: Logan Workman
Position: RHP
School: Lee University
Posted an utterly dominant six-week stretch for Division II power Lee (Tenn.) in 2020, going 5-0, 0.21 with 53 strikeouts and 16 walks in 42 innings, holding hitters to a .091 batting average. A strong-bodied 6-foot-4, 200-pound righty with a high arm slot, Workman sits 93-95 and touches 96. His fastball has a good spin rate up to 2390 rpm, giving it some riding life at the top of the zone. He also flashes a promising slider at 80-84 mph with solid spin in the 2400 rpm range. He also throws a 77 mph curveball as a show pitch, but the slider is the legitimate out pitch when he throws a good one. Workman also uses his 83-85 mph changeup frequently, showing enough feel for it to get swing-and-misses with it against right-handed hitters. The pitch is thrown with good arm speed and bottom, giving him a third legitimate weapon.
