Draft League Spotlight: Garrett Martin

Mike Rosenbaum
Senior Prospect Analyst

Player: Garrett Martin
Position: OF/3B

School: McLennan

A Denver native and former three-sport prep standout, Martin looks the part of a pro prospect with his athleticism and broad-shouldered, 6-foot-4 frame. Hitting from an upright setup, Martin uses his height to create a leveraged bat path through the hitting zone that yields a lot of well-struck, fly-ball contact. That has translated to a .353 average and 15 tanks for him in ‘21. After manning shortstop at the outset of his collegiate career, Martin has made a smooth transition to the outfield, where he shows the speed, range and arm strength needed to profile at either corner. He’s committed to Oklahoma State for the ‘22 season.
