Draft League Spotlight: Carlos Pena
April 2, 2021
Player: Carlos Pena
Position: OF
School: Salisbury School, CT
A Missouri recruit, Pena carries strength through his 6-foot-1, 210-pound frame and is a good athlete. At the Super 60 in February, he ran a 6.79-second 60 and threw 89 from the outfield. Hitting from the left side, he has controlled aggression that appears effortless and he scores well in hand and bat speed. His loose hands whip the barrel through the zone to create loud contact. There are a few power bats coming out of New England this year and Pena is squarely in the mix with the best of them. He is also a birthday guy, not turning 18 until after the draft.
