Diamond Notes: 4/8 - 4/14

The 2019 high school season is well underway. Yesterday, 2019 LHP Tanner Wells (Wayne County HS) was named the Player of the Week for April 8th – April 14th. This week’s decision was a tough one, as there were several worthy nominees for the honor. We take a look at the other nominations sent in by coaches around the state in this week’s Diamond Notes.
+ Walker Ladner hit .727 with nine RBI, one home run, and two double. On the mound he beat threw 6.2 innings getting the win and scattering four hits and struck out 13.
+ Landon Rogers (Lewisburg) was 5-for-8 on the week. He picked up two doubles and scored five runs as the Patriots clinched the 1-5A district title, their 13th straight district crown.
+ Cooper Smith (Lewisburg) scattered three hits, struck out two and gave up an unearned run in the complete game performance as LHS defeated Center Hill, 2-1, in 8 innings. Smith allowed just the one runner past 2nd base all night as the Patriots clinched the season series with the Mustangs.
