Commitment Corner: 2018 2B/OF Jon Jon Conahan (Millbrook School)

Dan Cevette
President, New York

One of our top articles in the past year 'Commitment Corner' is back with brand new players from all over the Empire State. We have taken the time to sit down and ask these committed prospects a few questions, helping readers have a chance to learn more about each prospects journey. Let's get started.

Commitment: Penn State

PBR:  Tell us all about your recruitment process, when it started, and why you decided to commit to Penn State

Conahan: I was committed to the College of Charleston but due to coaching changes I decided that attending COFC was not the best opportunity for my family and I. I am extremely thankful to have had all the love I did the second time around. Penn State is an incredible place with arguably the best journalism school in the country and that is what I plan to study there. I wanted to play in a power 5 conference and Penn State gave me everything that I wanted.

PBR:  Looking at your skillset on the baseball field, what would you say your biggest strength at the next-level will be?

Conahan: I think my bat will be my biggest strength at the next level because that has been my tool that has carried my baseball career so far. I also think my versatility and being able to play multiple positions will help me.

PBR:  What’s your No. 1 priority going into the Winter in terms of getting prepared for next spring?

Conahan: My number one priority is getting stronger and more flexible, I want to be able to get my 60 down to a 6.5 by the spring and to do that I need to get more flexible and stronger. I also want to get my arm healthy after my procedure this past summer.

PBR:  Who is your biggest influence when it comes to playing the game of baseball?

Conahan:  My brother is my biggest influence, he was the one who introduced me to the game and was always hard on me to make sure I was doing my best. He really helped me develop into a player and taught me to not give up on anything in life. My Mom and Dad have also played an incredible part in my baseball life and I appreciate their sacrifices for me. My Grandpa has always been my number one fan and for that I thank him, I also thank him for teaching me to be a man and always do things 100%.

PBR:  Prep Baseball Report’s No. 1 goal is to provide players with an unrivaled platform filled with next-level exposure through events and multi-media avenues. What’s your experience been with us?

Conahan:  PBR is in my opinion the best venue you could ever go to. The future games opened doors for me that were not open until that point. I had tons of Coaches callings hours after the event from most power 5s. The Future Games is a must go to if you ever get invited, no doubt the best event I have ever played in.
