No. 2 Plainfield North 12, Hinsdale Central 0
Josh Garner homered, doubled and had six RBI as the Phoenix stormed into sectionals with a five-inning victory. Brady Corrigan allowed three hits in the abbreviated shutout. Jake Dunham went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
No. 3 O’Fallon 2, Alton 1
Bradley Harrison pitched a four-hitter and hit a solo home run for O’Fallon. Harrison struck out eight and walked two in the complete-game victory. Hayden Schaefer went 2-for-3 for O’Fallon. Steve Pattan had an RBI single in the seventh inning for Alton.
No. 4 Lincoln-Way North 10, Andrew 7
Tom Szczasny and Tyler Strzelczyk hit two-run homers as North scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth for the fifth and final lead change of the ballgame. Luke VanArtsen also went deep for the Phoenix.
No. 5 St. Rita 6, Nazareth 4
Ray Hansen’s two-run single in the bottom of the fifth broke a 4-4 tie. Steven Washilewski struck out eight in 3 ⅔ scoreless innings of one-hit ball to earn the win in relief. Cal Greenfield hit a two-run homer for St. Rita. Shane Gipson had a three-run homer for Nazareth.
No. 6 Oak Park 1, Lane 0
Hank Christie pitched seven innings of one-hit ball and the Huskies scored the game’s only run on Connor Nelson’s walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth. Christie struck out seven and walked three and Joseph Cundari struck out two in a perfect eighth inning for the win. Brett Wicklund allowed four hits in going the distance for Lane.
No. 8 St. Laurence 6, Riverside-Brookfield 0
Angel Sandoval pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts and Matt McCormick went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI. Anthony Rios added three hits for the Vikings.
No. 9 St. Charles North 6, Wheaton North 1
Jack Lambert pitched a four-hitter and Sam Faith delivered a three-run triple as the North Stars scored all six runs in the bottom of the sixth. Lambert struck out nine and walked one and John Legare went 2-for-2 with a double in the victory.
No. 11 Prairie Ridge 7, Barrington 6
Jon Tieman went 2-for-2, singling home Hunter Martin with the tiebreaking run in the bottom of the sixth. Ryan Schmit had three RBI in the victory.
No. 12 Providence 4, Lockport 0
Connor Creed pitched five innings of one-hit ball and Tom Kelley homered for the defending 4A champs.

Alonzo White pitched a four-hitter and Hunter Smith went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI for the Griffins. White struck out six and walked two.
Marist 6, No. 19 Marian Catholic 1
Jack Snyder struck out seven in the complete-game victory and Brandon Hanik went 2-for-3 with two RBI for Marist.
Mundelein 3, Libertyville 1

Minooka 10, Moline 8
Brandon Rossiter hit a grand slam and Hayden Laczynski added a two-run homer as Minooka scored six runs in the second inning to take command. Laczynski also had a two-run double.
Grant 7, McHenry 3
Bryan Libby pitched a complete game and James Pendley had a two-run single in the third inning to give Grant the lead for good. Ben Kusiak added a two-run double in the victory. Bobby Miller hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning for McHenry.
Lake Park 4, Willowbrook 3
Connor Cook singled home Colin Jamison with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Cook also struck out 12 in seven innings of five-hit ball and A.J. Ackerley pitched two scoreless innings to win in relief.
Neuqua Valley 4, Naperville Central 3
Tyler Cristofaro went 3-for-3 with an RBI single in the two-run fifth as Neuqua broke a 2-2 tie. Jake Wenz doubled and had two RBI in the victory.
St. Charles East 2, Geneva 1
Matt Breidigan pitched a two-hitter to outduel Noah Davison, who pitched a two-hitter of his own for Geneva.
Jacobs 3, Machesney Park Harlem 0
Brenden Heiss pitched a three-hitter and Mike Addante went 4-for-4 for the Golden Eagles.
Prospect 6, Lake Zurich 3
Grant Whitebloom drove in three runs and Ben Courtney allowed one earned run on seven hits in 6⅔ innings for the Knight.
Batavia 13, Glenbard East 8
Tyler Kledik went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI and Ben Lynam went 2-for-2 with four RBI for Batavia. Kyle Niemiec also went deep in the victory.
Plainfield Central 7, Waubonsie Valley 1
Sultan Solebo pitched a no-hitter, striking out nine and walking five, for Central. Matt Bunetta went 3-for-3 with two RBI and David Ascencio and Cameron Cercone had two hits and scored two runs apiece in the victory.
Plainfield East 7, Downers Grove North 3
Cole Lynch went 4-for-4 with three RBI and Logan Schmitt picked up his second victory in two days with three scoreless innings of relief.
Plainfield South 4, Joliet West 0
New Trier 5, Niles North 3
Ben Brecht struck out 10 in six scoreless innings of two-hit ball and Matt Kann had an RBI double and came around to score in the Trevians’ four-run third inning.
Loyola 13, Maine West 7
Thomas Smart homered and doubled and Andrew Bartholow went 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs for the Ramblers.
Warren 11, Fremd 10
Luke Schmitt and Michael Rosenberg hit home runs and Warren scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth to erase its 10-8 deficit.
CLASS 3A REGIONAL FINALS
No. 15 Waterloo 1, Columbia 0
Tyler McAlister pitched a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks, and Waterloo finally got on the board against Columbia’s Luke Watson when Cole Kaipling singled home Lucas Goodsell with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Geneseo 4, No. 17 Peoria Notre Dame 1
Jacob Van Doren homered and Keaton Rice had a two-run double for the Maple Leafs. Jacob Pauley scattered five hits and five walks in 6⅔ innings for the win.
No. 18 Wauconda 7, Johnsburg 3
Trevor Sefcik belted two solo homers and Brian McFarlin and Colin Shrader also went deep as Wauconda pounded out 15 hits in the victory.
No. 20 Sacred Heart-Griffin 6, Glenwood 3
Cal Elvers went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs and Sam Sergent went 3-for-4 for the Cyclones.
No. 21 Carmel 10, Wheaton Academy 5
Joe Santoro went 4-for-4 with three RBI and Joey Lake went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI for the Corsairs.
No. 22 Rockford Christian 16, Boylan 2
Neil Thomas went 2-for-2 with five RBI and Dave Prisby, Alec Powell and Nolan Gazouski hit home runs for the Royal Lions.
Limestone 2, Richwoods 1
Sam Koeppel had an RBI single and Tanner Bradley followed with a sacrifice fly as Limestone scored twice in the fifth inning to erase Richwoods’ 1-0 lead. Tanner Rhodes allowed one hit in 2 ⅓ scoreless innings to pick up the win in relief.
Benet 6, Glenbard South 2
Alex Tassos hit a two-run homer and Mark Moran pitched 3 ⅔ scoreless innings of one-hit relief, striking out four and walking none, to pick up the win. Marty Dosen had two hits and Danny Sobolewski drove in a pair of runs in the victory.
Herscher 7, Lincoln-Way West 6
Tanner Regez doubled home the go-ahead run as Herscher scored five runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead. Tyler Fisher and Joel Azzarelli hit back-to-back homers in the victory. Luke Hertz allowed one hit in three scoreless innings to win in relief.
Centennial 4, Mahomet-Seymour 2
Winning pitcher Luke Smith had two doubles and drove in all four Centennial runs. He went 6 1.3 innings, allowing two unearned runs on seven hits and Kellen Sarver retired the only two batters he faced for the save. Alex Jackson pitched a three-hitter in the loss.
Morgan Park 8, Tinley Park 2
Jamarion Loston went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Jamal Brown hit a home run for the Mustangs. Nelson Velasquez allowed two unearned runs on three hits in six innings to earn the win.
De La Salle 8, St. Ignatius 4
Tommy Duddleston struck out eight in the complete-game victory and the Meteors scored five runs in the top of the first and never looked back. Teo Marquez went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI for De La Salle.
Marmion 6, Kaneland 1
Brandon McPherson allowed an unearned run on three hits in six innings and went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the victory. Chase Stanke hit a home run for Marmion.
Evergreen Park 6, Simeon 2
Pat Doran pitched a four-hitter and went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Evergreen Park. Dan Reynolds went 2-for-3 with two RBI in the victory.
Marion 3, Effingham 0
Braden White scattered nine hits and did not record a single strikeout in the shutout. Marion handled all 21 chances without an error. Kurt Smith went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Pontiac 8, LaSalle-Peru 3
Cam Brown, Levi Ransom and Kyle Comincioli hit home runs and Pontiac scored five runs in the bottom of the first to take command
Fenwick 3, St. Patrick 0
Jay Militello pitched a five-hit shutout with six strikeouts and no walks for the Friars. Jack Grace’s two-run double in the bottom of the sixth snapped the scoreless tie.
St. Viator 13, Antioch 2
Dan Sullivan, Shaun Falbo and Jack Sexton went a combined 9-for-10 with seven RBI and six runs in the victory.
Montini 6, Elmwood Park 1
Jake Rosley pitched six innings of two-hit ball and Alex Luka went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI for the Broncos.
Jones 5, Brooks 0
William Oppenheim pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and Langston Harris had an RBI triple for Jones.
Payton 3, Ridgewood 2
Zac Veitch pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and hit a home run for Payton.
Freeburg 8, Triad 5
Jordan Fritz went 4-for-4 and Elias Czech struck out six in three innings of one-hit relief to pick up the win.
Lakes 7, Richmond-Burton 3
Max Swiatek doubled twice and had two RBI and two runs in the victory.
Lemont 17, Coal City 0
Garrett Acton and Nate Madej combined on a five-inning no-hitter and Acton and Angel Salinas hit home runs in the rout.

CLASS 2A SECTIONAL FINALS
DePaul Prep 1, IC Catholic 1
Julian Gonzalez allowed four hits in eight scoreless innings and Kevin Evans singled home Alex Garcia with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.
Reed-Custer 3, St. Bede 1
Eddie Wilkins struck out 14 and allowed an unearned run on four hits and one walk in the complete-game victory. Neil O’Donnell hit a solo home run.
CLASS 1A SECTIONAL FINALS
Goreville 12, Cobden 3
Brodie Lenon went 3-for-3 with three RBI and Jared Vaughn allowed two earned runs on six hits in the complete-game victory. Braden Webb had two of Goreville’s seven stolen bases and scored three runs.
Abingdon 4, Astoria 3
Brett Fordyce walked, stole second and third and scored on a passed ball to win it for Abingdon in the bottom of the ninth. Kaine Sundquist struck out eight in 3⅔ perfect innings to win in relief.
