Here is a look at some of the scores and highlights from the action around the state from opening day.
Farragut 17, Randolph School (AL) 3
Chandler Chambers and went 2-4 with 3 RBI and a run scored. Jake Hagenow recorded a double and finished 2-2 with 2 RBI and 2 walks. Zach Joyce got the win on the mound and Landon Smiddy pitched two innings of scoreless relief.
Farragut 13, East Webster (MS) 2
Ten Admirals combined for 12 hits, led by Carson Wright and Jake Grooms and their 2-hit performances. Wright also tallied 2 runs and an RBI. Ashton King recorded a double with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Drew Patterson got the complete-game W, allowing only 3 hits and striking out 4.
GCA-Knoxville 7, Rockwood 2
Hunter Ross grabbed the win on the mound and recorded a hit and a run of his own. GCA also received solid performances from Taylor Lawson (1-3, 1 run, 2 RBI) and Eli Nordham (2-3, 1 run).
Rockwood, 3, GCA-Knoxville 2
Rockwood battled back to get the W in the second half of the double-header. Dalton Monroe (2) and Trey Treadway (3) recorded 5 of Rockwood's 8 hits and contributed to all 3 of their runs scored. Kyle VanPatten got the W on the mound with 2 scoreless innings of relief.
Collierville 6, White Station 1
The Dragons got multi-hit performances from Parker Moss, Christopher Shaw, Adam Hall, and Mitch Austin to tally their first win of the year. Tyler Sherman got the W on the mound by dealing 5 innings of 2-hit baseball with 7 strikeouts and 0 walks.
Jefferson County 6, Sevier County 5
A 10-strikeout performance from Chase Wallace wasn't enough to put the Patriots away, as they rallied with 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead. Tyler Shaver recorded the save with a perfect 7th and Trevor Whitley contributed a hit and 2 RBI.
Greeneville 2, Pigeon Forge 0
The Devils got the opening day win, thanks to a no-hitter by Austin Collins. In his 7 innings of work, he allowed only one walk and struck out one. Dalton McClain and Cody Hartness both recorded 2 hits and scored a run.
JPII 17, Summit 1
A strong opening day performance by the Knights stood out to many. Jake Rucker and Ben Brooks both went 4-4 and combined for 7 runs scored. 7 others recorded at least one hit.
Clarksville 10, Montgomery Central 0
Cody Spurgeon was the star in Monday's opening day win for the Wildcats with his 5-inning no-hitter. Spurgeon struck out 9 and allowed only 2 walks. Skylar Luna, Garrett Spain, and Luke Chillcutt scored 2 runs each and Calen Kimmell tallied 2 hits and 2 RBI.
Dyer County 8, Germantown 0
The Choctaws got a 5-inning no-hit performance from Jordan Fowler in their opening day win. Fowler recorded 9 strikeouts and allowed only 1 walk. Ryan White led the offense, going 2-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBI.
Tipton-Rosemark 10, Northpoint 0
Corey Mitson was the star in Monday's win for the Rebels. While going 3-3 at the plate with a run and an RBI, Mitson also pitched 4 innings of 2-hit baseball with 8 strikeouts. Jaxon Pennington also tallied 2 hits for T-R.
Huntingdon 8, Jackson South Side 6
Five Huntingdon players recorded multiple hits for the Mustangs in their opening day win. Hunter Ensley scored 3 runs and Elijah Wilkerson drove in 3, while Hunter Hankings got the W with 3 scoreless innings of relief.
Huntingdon 2, Hardin County 0
Hunter Ensley threw 4 innings of scoreless baseball with 8 strikeouts to start the game and also contributed a hit and a run, offensively. Kelby Pearson got the W with 3 innings of scoreless relief and Kade Pearson put up 2 hits with a run scored.
Franklin County 10, Lawrence County 8
Cadon Sons got the W on the mound for the Rebels with his 6-inning, 3-hit outing. Sons struck out 9 and allowed only 2 walks. Chase Rhoton went 3-4 with two doubles and recorded 3 RBI and 1 run scored. Shane Smith had 2 hits and garnered the save.
Ravenwood 10, Dickson County 0
Jack Sisk put together a dominant performance on the mound, striking out 10 and allowing only 3 hits in his 4 innings of work. Zach Sharber went 2-3 with a run and Zane Denton scored 3 runs by going 1-2 with 2 walks.
Beech 10, Springfield 0
The Buccaneers got a great outing for Ian McWilliams on Monday, with 4 innings of 2-hit baseball. McWilliams struck out 9 and walked only 3. Dalton Hall and Sam Ayers both went 2-3 and combined for 3 RBI and 3 runs scored.
White House 8, East Nashville 7
White House got 2 hits and 3 RBI from Jagger Brantley and a very strong bullpen performance from Will Barger to tally the opening day win. Barger threw 2.2 innings and allowed no runs on 1 hit and 3 walks, while striking out 2. Cole Pond also had a hit and 2 RBI.
