Jimmy Burnette struck out nine in five innings and Matt McCormick had three RBI for the Vikings.
No. 9 Nazareth 5, Kenwood 1
Chris Campagna (3-0) allowed two hits in four innings for the win. Carson Bartels went 2-for-3 and scored two runs for the Roadrunners.
No. 14 Plainfield South 3, Downers Grove North 2
Nick Enloe tripled with two outs in the bottom of the ninth and scored the winning run when John Galczak reached on an infield error. Trey Ricko picked up the win with two scoreless innings in relief of starter Austin Marozas, who struck out eight and allowed one earned run in seven innings.
No. 15 Waterloo 6, Christian Brothers (MO) 5
Waterloo strung together four of its five hits - all singles - in the third inning, and the team also drew four walks to score all six of its runs in the frame. Tyler McCallister had an RBI and scored in the inning.
No. 20 Sandburg 7, Minooka 2
Kevin Lane allowed just one hit in five innings and Branden Comia hit a home run for Sandburg. Eric Papierski had three hits and Mike Dahlgren drove in two runs in the victory.
Montini 8, St. Francis 3
Trailing 3-0 with three outs to go, Montini exploded for eight runs in the top of the seventh to win its Catholic League opener. Nicholas Malik’s three-run double was the big blow in the rally.
Peoria Heights 1, Astoria/VIT 0
Blake Begner pitched a perfect game, going all seven innings with 16 strikeouts and no walks for Peoria Heights. Riley Gregory drove in run with a fifth-inning single.
McHenry 4, Warren 3
Matt Spooner’s two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh brought home the tying and winning runs. Spooner and Colton Klein had two hits apiece for McHenry. Pat Humphrey got one timely out for the win.
Antioch 3, Palatine 0
Sonny Mentone pitched a one-hitter with five strikeouts and a walk for the Sequoits. John Petty went 2-for-3 with two RBI out of the nine-hole.
Williamsville 3, Olympia 0
Cody Womack threw a no-hitter for the Bullet's, striking out three batters and walking one. Talon File led the way offensively, going 2-for-2 with a double.
Clinton 8, Virden North Mac 0
Mac Hickman threw a no-hitter for Clinton.
Tri-Valley 6, Harvest Christian 4
Jack Butler homered and Kolton Weichman and Kyle Van Duyn drove in two runs apiece in the victory.
Tri-Valley 10, Clinton 0
Hunter Merritt struck out 10 in five innings and Kyle Van Duyn went 3-for-4 with three RBI as Tri-Valley (9-1) captured the Clinton tournament.
Barrington 1, Lake Zurich 0
Jake Zyzda pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and three walks for the Broncos. Tristan Michaels doubled in the first inning and scored the game’s only run on an error.

Addison Fugit drove in three runs and Jake Gilhaus struck out seven in five two-hit innings for Normal. J.D. Villafuerte had two hits and scored twice in the victory.

Heartland recruit Jackson Bronke continued to dominate with 14 strikeouts in a three-hitter for Normal. Jake Gilhaus went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Lincoln-Way Central 8, Richards 4
Cam Post went 3-for-4 with three runs and Chad Tucker went 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Knights.
St. Viator 11, Wrightstown 2
Mike O’Neill went 3-for-3 and Mike Ragauskis had three of St. Viator’s seven stolen bases in the victory. The Lions scored all 11 runs in the first three innings.
Loyola 10, St. Joseph 0
Neil Udelhofen pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts and three walks and Andrew Bartholow went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs in the six-inning CCL victory.
Morton 14, IVC 1
Dan Bolt went 3-for-3 with four RBI and three runs scored for the Porters.
Triad 6, Granite City 2
Nick Beeler had two hits and two RBI and winning pitcher Jacob Heil and Gavin Gibbs did not allow an earned run.
Triad 4, Granite City 1
Zach Kraabel did not allow an earned run while scattering eight hits and two walks in the complete-game victory. He struck out seven.
Herscher 7, Momence 1
Tyler Fisher homered, doubled and had three RBI for Herscher. Winning pitcher Luke Hertz, Ty Stuart and Anthony Engelman combined on a three-hitter.
