Here is a look at some of the scores and highlights from around the state on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
Davison Academy 2, Battle Ground Academy 1
The Bears of Davidson Academy pulled out a gutsy win in the final inning of their game against BGA on Tuesday night. After loading the bases with 2 outs, James Flynn hit a groundball that forced an infield error to produce the walkoff win. Brock Myers got the W on the mound, tossing a complete-game and allowing only 4 hits, 1 walk, and 1 run, while striking out 9.
Davidson Academy 4, Battle Ground Academy 1
Ethan Tressler dominated on both sides of the ball in the second game of Tuesday's double header against BGA. Tressler finished 2-3 with a HR, 2 RBI, and 1 run scored, while also tossing 6.1 innings without allowing an earned run. He recorded 12 strikeouts and allowed only 3 hits and 1 walk. Blake Osborne earned the save.
Ravenwood 9, Franklin 3
Brandon Jaworski led the Raptors' offense on Tuesday evening, finishing 2-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Jackson Sherrill (1 R, 1 RBI) and Cameron Wilson (3 RBI) both went 1-2. Jack Sisk got the W on the mound, throwing 5 innings and allowing only 1 earned run while striking out 8.
CAK 12, Hardin Valley 2
Zane Keener powered the Warriors' offense to yet another victory on Tuesday evening, finishing 3-4 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Alex Osborne added 4 RBI, while Jesse Osborne and Cole Campbell both finished 2-4 with 2 doubles. Spencer Strider earned the W by striking out 11 Hawks in his 6 innings on the mound.
Summit 6, Dickson County 0
Reed Johnson tossed a shutout for the Spartans in there Tuesday evening victory over Dickson county. Johnson allowed 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. The Spartan offense worked 8 walks, but Brandon Johns produced the only 2 hits and scored 2 runs with 1 RBI.
Summit 10, Dickson County 0
Chris McElvain tossed a complete-game shutout in the second game of Tuesday's double-header to lead the Spartans to another convincing victory. McElvain struck out 11, while allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk. Wade Lopiccolo and Brandon Johns combined to go 3-4 with 4 RBI and 5 runs scored to lead the Eagles' offense.
Goodpasture 8, Gordonsville 4
The Cougars received 2-hit performances from Luke Dotson, Gage Gregory, and Wyatt Blessing in Tuesday evening's victory over Gordonsville. Dotson and Gregory combined to score 3 runs, while Blessing drove in 4 and scored 1 of his own. Blessing also earned the W on the mound.
Farragut 7, William Blount 3
Jake Hagenow finished 3-3 with 2 RBI to help lead the Admirals' offense on Tuesday evening. Justen Freeman added 3 RBI of his own, while Carson Wright, Chandler Chambers, Parker Noland, and Ashton King all had 1 hit and 1 run scored. Owen Kovacs earned the W on the mound.
Ensworth 5, Page 0
Gage Young tossed a complete-game shutout over Page on Tuesday evening with 3 strikeouts. Young allowed only 3 hits and 1 walk. Jonah Wicks and Patrick Vandenbergh each had 2 hits, while Christian Dixon drove in 3 runs and Garrett Schultz went 1-3 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.
Boyd-Buchanan 7, Marion County 5
Colby Morgan dominated at the plate in the Buccaneers' Tuesday evening victory over Marion County, finishing 3-4 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Morgan hit a grand slam in the second inning. Jax Price added a hit, a run, and an RBI. Bray Wilson recorded the W on the mound.
Franklin County 10, Coffee County Central 5
Kohl Fuller, Dawson Powers, and Hunter Perry combined to go 8-12 with 5 RBI and 7 runs scored in Tuesday evening's Rebel victory. Powers had a triple, while Shane Smith added 2 hits, 1 run, and 1 RBI. Caden Sons earned the W on the mound, while Smith registered the save.
Huntingdon 11, McKenzie 1
Kade Pearson, Ben Clifft, Kelby Pearson, and Hunter Hankins led the offensive explosion for the Mustangs on Tuesday evening, combining to go 11-13 with 6 RBI and 8 runs scored. Tyrese Mebane added a hit and an RBI, while Zack Dodson got the W on the mound. Dodson allowed only 4 hits and 1 unearned run in his 5 innings of work.
Independence 5, Columbia Central 3
Robert Hassell got the Eagles' offense started on Tuesday night by hitting a 2-run HR in the bottom of the 4th inning. Dillan Saunders and Noah Haynie both had 2 hits, while Shawn Wallwork and Carson Carroll both tallied 2 RBI in the win. Ethan Small earned the W on the mound by tossing 4 innings of shutout baseball, allowing only 2 hits.
Milan 8, Crockett County 0
Cameron Oliver and Mason Holden helped lead the Bulldogs' offense on Tuesday night, combining to go 3-6 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored in the victory. Griffin Miller added 2 RBI of his own, while Holden also earned the W on the mound, allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk with 12 strikeouts.
Dobyns-Bennett 11, Science Hill 4
Quentin Polinski and Kellen Glasscock both had 2 hits, 1 run, and 1 RBI to help power the Indians' offense on Tuesday evening. Chaz Kimbril finished 2-2 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored, while Parker Hill had a triple with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Daniel Starnes earned the W on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings of scoreless relief.
Evangelical Christian 3, Harding Academy 1
All of the Eagles' offense came from Riley Watkins, Keegan Westbrook, and Houston Harding in Tuesday night's victory over Harding Academy. The trio combined to go 5-9 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored, while Harding also earned the complete-game victory on the mound.
