No. 2 Brother Rice 6, No. 3 St. Rita 2
Ryan King went 4-for-4 and gave the Crusaders the lead for good with a two-run single in the first inning. Andrew Dyke added a two-run homer in the third and Andy Lopez went 3-for-3 in the victory. Ryan Kutt struck out nine in the complete-game victory, allowing seven hits and walking none.
No. 5 St. Charles North 6, West Chicago 2
Bennett Christiansen pitched five innings of one-hit ball, striking out six and walking one for the North Stars. Luke Corcoran went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs in the victory.
No. 6 St. Laurence 7, Loyola 1
Jimmy Burnette and Angel Sandoval combined on a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts for the Vikings. Sandoval struck out seven in 3⅓ scoreless relief innings. Jack Cavanaugh and Anthony Rios drove in two runs apiece for the Vikings.
Carmel 10, No. 16 Nazareth 0
Chris Baumann pitched six innings of two-hit ball and Joe Santoro went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs for the Corsairs. Connor Pett and Matt Connor drove in two runs apiece.
Conant 5, No. 22 Jacobs 2
Jim McGlaughlin went 3-for-4 with three RBI, including a two-run single that broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the seventh. Matt Mills went the distance in the victory.
No. 25 Alton 13, Valmeyer 7
Steven Nguyen had four RBI and Noah Rathgab went 2-for-2 and scored four runs for Alton. Gary Volz allowed an earned run on two hits while striking out six in four innings for the Redbirds.
No. 25 Alton 12, Valmeyer 2
Winning pitcher Rob Taul went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI and the Redbirds had seven extra-base hits in the victory. Steven Pattan tripled, singled, scored twice and drove in two for Alton. Taul struck out six in four innings.
St. Viator 6, Marist 5
John Finnegan’s pinch-single plated Mike O’Neill with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Cole Kmet’s two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth gave St. Viator a 5-3 lead. Marist evened the score on a two-run single by Justin Janas in the top of the seventh.
McHenry 10, Huntley 1
Matt Spooner went 3-for-4 with four RBI and Michael Lasiewicz allowed three hits in six scoreless innings for McHenry. Dylan Honkala added two hits and two RBI in the victory.
Crystal Lake South 5, Lakes 3
Cam Geisser’s two-run single in the fifth inning broke a 3-3 tie. Kevin Amren struck out seven in 3⅔ innings for the Gators.
Cary-Grove 6, Fremd 3
Tyler Pennington’s three-run double in the bottom of the fourth gave Cary-Grove a 6-2 lead in the five-inning victory.
Grant 15, Grayslake Central 8
Matt Mason, Ricky Allen and Ray Guardado had two hits apiece for Grant. Ben Kusiak added two RBI.
Mundelein 14, Young 4
Brendan Murphy had a triple, double and single and Tom Morton hit a two-run homer for Mundelein.
Lake Zurich 3, Rolling Meadows 2
Shane Nolan’s RBI double in the top of the eighth was the difference for Lake Zurich. Nick Sanders had two hits, two runs and an RBI for the Bears.
Elk Grove 7, Libertyville 6
Christian Camacho and Jack McEnroe had two hits apiece and Joe Lopez had a two-run double for the Grenadiers. Ben Kimpler drove in two runs and scored twice for Libertyville.
Stevenson 7, Buffalo Grove 0
Justin Kopech pitched five innings of one-hit ball and Henry Marchese hit a home run for the Patriots.
Vernon Hills 12, Wheeling 2
Connor McNamara had three RBI and scored three runs for Vernon Hills. Joe Rangel struck out six in five innings and had two RBI for the Cougars.
Barrington 13, Harlem 5
Patrick Dehnert drove in three runs and Tristan Michaels scored three times for the Broncos.
Highland Park 6, Glenbrook South 2
Jordan Mendiola drove in four runs and Toby Tigges allowed an earned run on four hits with six strikeouts in five innings for the Giants.
Deerfield 10, Niles West 0
Ben Charlson drove in three runs and Zach Shutan allowed two hits in five innings for Deerfield.
Metea Valley 3, Lake Park 1
Matt Vass struck out seven in five innings of three-hit ball and Jack Feeley went 2-for-2 with two runs in the rain-shortened victory. Blake Honda also went 2-for-2 for Metea.
Waubonsie Valley 4, Wheaton Warrenville South 3
Nick Rice’s two-run double in the bottom of the fifth plated the tying and winning runs in the rain-shortened victory. Matt Oliver had the only other hit for Waubonsie.
Wheaton North 4, Glenbard North 2
Casey Becker pitched a four-hitter and did not allow an earned run for the Falcons. He struck out six and did not issue a walk.
Willowbrook 6, Addison Trail 1
Cameron Zunkel pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts and T.J. Geritano went 2-for-3 with two RBI for Willowbrook.
Downers Grove South 8, Leyden 6
Nicholas Stacey went 3-for-6 with four RBI, including a two-run single in the top of the ninth that won it for the Mustangs, who scored three in the seventh to force extra innings. Brett Riegler had four hits for South. Dominic Fredrickson had four hits for Leyden.
Glenbard West 13, Proviso West 1
Kevin Spencer went 3-for-3 with two RBI for the Hilltoppers.
St. Charles East 5, West Aurora 2
Kyle Tiltges had two hits and scored two runs for the Saints.
Larkin 6, Bartlett 2
David Weaver allowed two unearned runs on five hits and Kordell Thomas hit a home run in the five-inning victory.
Oregon 13, Lena-Winslow 12
Cole Burke’s single in the bottom of the seventh was the 27th and final hit of the ballgame as Oregon won in walk-off fashion after Lena-Winslow tied it with five runs in the top of the seventh. Brett Sisler had two doubles and four RBI for Lena-Winslow.
Andrew 14, Thornridge 1
David Chianelli went 3-for-3 with five RBI in the victory.
Andrew 4, Stagg 3
Jack Crean’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh won it for Andrew. Dan Heilbron went 3-for-3 in the victory. Ryan O’Connell had two hits and drove in all three Stagg runs.
Johnsburg 12, Sycamore 7
Adam Jayko went 4-for-4 and Riley Elliot drove in three runs for Johnsburg.
Burlington Central 13, Belvidere North 3
Dakota Sciabaras had two hits and drove in three runs for Central.
