Here is a look at some of the scores and highlights from around the state on Thursday, April 13, 2017.
Goodpasture 11, Dickson County 4
The Cougars got a strong performance out of the top of their lineup in Thursday's win over Dickson County, as Luke Dotson, David Wilson, and Gage Gregory combined to go 8-11 with 8 RBIs and 5 runs scored. Wilson also earned the W on the mound, as one of 4 pitchers used by Goodpasture in the game.
Chattanooga Christian 2, Marion County 0
Six Chattanooga Christian hitters had 1 hit in Thursday's win, as Chris King and Matthew Mercer scored the only 2 runs of the game. Alex Phillips drove in a run and Cameron Webb earned the W on the mound. John Rhodes recorded the save, as the two combined to allow only 2 hits in the shutout, while striking out 7.
Davidson Academy 11, Lipscomb Academy 1
Hunter Lautzenheiser led the Davidson Academy offense on Thursday night, finishing 3-4 with a double, 2 run, and 2 RBIs, while Ethan Tressler added 2 hits, a run and an RBI. Nick Cummings delivered a 1-hitter on the mound, allowing only 2 walks and 1 run while striking out 8. Cummings also had 2 hits at the plate.
Collierville 3, Houston 1
The Dragons pulled out a highly competitive win on Thursday night against the Mustangs of Houston. Adam Hall, Evan Chatlosh, and Braden Sutton each had 1 hit and 1 RBI while Mitch Austin finished 2-4. Parker Moss had the final hit and scored a run and Tyler Sherman got the complete-game victory, allowing only 5 hits and recording 3 strikeouts.
Sevier County 9, Pigeon Forge 3
Chase Wallace dominate the day in leading the Smoky Bears to their Thursday evening win over Pigeon Forge. Wallace struck out 8 in his 5 innings and only allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs, while also finishing 3-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs at the plate. Noah Webb closed out the final 2 innings on the mound and Kaleb Orr went 2-4 with 4 RBI and a run scored.
Farragut 10, Mt. Juliet 9
The Admiral offense came out swinging on Thursday night in their victory over a highly-touted Mt. Juliet pitching staff. Carson Wright and Jake Hagenow led the way, at the top of the order, combining to go 6-10 with 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Wright hit a home run and a double, while Hagenow tallied 2 doubles. Justen Freeman and Zach Yunger each added 2 hits to the cause.
Evangelical Christian 5, Northpoint Christian (MS) 2
Dawson Williams, Nathan McMeans, and Houston Harding all had 2 hits to lead the Eagles' offense on Thursday evening. Williams scored a run while McMeans recorded 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Colin Jones earned the W on the mound and Billy Edwards recorded the save by tossing the final two innings.
Milan 11, Trinity Christian 4
The Bulldogs' offense pounded out 11 runs on 9 hits and 6 walks in Thursday's victory over Trinity Christian. Cameron Oliver led the way, finishing 3-4 with 3 runs and 4 RBIs while Connor Creasy and Lewis Mayo both recorded 2 RBIs of their own. Addison Williams earned the W on the mound, having not allowed an earned run in his 5.1 innings.
