As we prepare for the inaugural Commonwealth Classic tournament, our staff would like to highlight what to expect from #7 Mills Godwin Eagles in this tournament, as well as some of their potential top performers.

Tournament Schedule: April 1st at 1:00 pm vs #20 Greenbrier Christian (Site: Hanover HS)
April 1st at 7:00 pm vs TBD (Site: TBD), April 3rd (Opponent, Site, & Time TBD)

 

The Eagles are one of the most storied programs in Richmond and the state as a whole. Can they get back to their dominant ways in 2023? While they have been very strong early, this weekend will be a good test for Godwin, as they have not faced many big arms early this season, as well as the depth that some of these lineups provide. One of the main questions surrounding this Godwin has been will the offense produce enough to allow their staff to work ahead in games. So far the arms have held up their end of the deal and the bats have been streaky, but have scored in bunches at times. They have the firepower on the mound and in the lineup to make a deep run in this tournament, as well as in early June, but a three game slate in less than forty eight hours will be a good test for this talented squad.
