Continuing a look at 2021 players, On the Hunt highlights a host of talented prospects this week. The summer season is nearly upon us, and each of these players has a chance to make some noise during it. Players this week come from California, Florida, Kansas, New York, and Texas.

Jordan Viars 1B / LHP / Reedy, TX / 2021

Equipped with a projectable, 6-foot-3, 185-pounds with proportional strength throughout, Viars has already begun to show himself as a potential middle of the order bat at the next level. The left-handed hitter possesses long limbs with more strength likely in the future, and already showcases a 91 mph exit velocity off the tee. Starting open with his hands held above the ear, Viars loads by shifting his weight significantly to the back side with a larger leg kick that hangs as he squares off. The hands work down and back into a power position before quickly working through the zone on a level plane with a high finish. Viars shows the ability to drive the ball from gap to gap with flashes of pull side power which should continue to see progress as he matures. Solid at first base, Viars features a loose, longer arm action while exhibiting some athleticism around the bag. Overall, the potential that Viars may hit for even greater power moving forward should entice college recruiters to follow him moving forward.
