From viral performances to under the radar prospects that should be on your radar, the Bishop Gorman Scout Day had it all. Justin Crawford, an Uncommitted 2022 OF prospect has taken over the amateur baseball world with his BLAZING 6.19 60 Time that made its way onto multiple platforms and is currently approaching 50,000 combined views on the Prep Baseball Report social media platforms. Speed is undeniably his best tool, but a close second is his hit tool that continues to improve and was on display during his batting practice session with gap to gap line drives taking up most of the round and your occasional flash of power to right-center field. Soon to be one of the top prospects in the nation when the updated PBR National Rankings come out, Crawford announced his presence in a significant way Saturday, and this is just the beginning. 

The Scout Days are a way for player to put themselves on the map like Crawford did, but they are also a way to show off the progress you are making from year to year as you progress through high school and 2021 UNLV commit, Santino Panaro, did just that by improving his 60 Time from 6.63 to 6.39, his Outfield Velocity from 85 to 86 mph and his Exit Velocity from 87 to 88 mph. These numbers might like a small difference, but in a game of inches and half-steps they could be massive. 2020 IF/RHP Tyler Whitaker, an Arizona commit, solidified himself as one of the top prospects in the state with a stellar all-around performance highlighted by his 6.59 60 Time shortly followed by a batting practice round that showcased his ability to drive the ball with authority to all fields and clean actions in the field topping out at 89 mph from the outfield while showing comfort ranging to both the forehand and backhand sides in the infield finishing with accurate throws across the diamond at 85 mph. High level prospect, 2022 IF/RHP Demitri Diamant, is a legit two-way prospect already committed to Georgia Tech with a fastball sitting at 88 mph throughout his bullpen with potential plus secondary stuff, not to be outshined by his 88 mph Infield Velocity across the diamond and 6.64 60 Time to round out an impressive day on the field.

Under The Radar

The big names were not the only players to shine the Bishop Gorman Scout Day. You can find the name Julian Molto-Herrera, an Uncommitted 2021 UT/RHP, toward the top of every Top Performer category that applies to him. After a Border Battle weekend that had Molto-Herrera shine both on the mound as well as leading the charge with two doubles in an electric head to head match up against a star-studded Harvard-Westlake team. The two-way prospect sat at 84-85 mph on the mound with a split change with late downward action after tying an event best 89 mph from the outfield, a 6.69 60 Time and an event best 101 mph Exit Velocity. Not a big-name player, but a player looking to make a big name for himself in his junior campaign. 

Ones To Watch

Joey Randazzo, a 2022 C/IF, the Nevada All-State Games attendee is a projectable left-handed hitting prospect that can handle velocity behind the dish, earning the best Pop Time of the day at 1.97. Future Games attendee, 2022 RHP/IF Payton Riske, showed of his ability to locate all three of his pitches during his bullpen session, catching the eye of our National Crosscheckers with his easy, low effort delivery with loose arm action that creates arm side run on his pitches, especially on his potential plus changeup. 2023 C Anthony Marnell is a 6-foot-1, 160-pound switch hitting catcher, 2.06 Pop Time, that can already drive the ball from both side of the plate and projects to add significant power as he continues to add size and strength.
