Bishop Foley HS, MI, has won three consecutive Division 3 state championships, something no team has ever done in the Great Lakes State. To win a fourth, the Ventures have to get better. Not because they lost players to graduation—they have 12 out of 14 players returning—but because that’s what it takes to win.
“Every day you have to improve,” head coach Buster Sunde said. “So many teams go through the course of the year and they're not much different from the first game to the last game.
“As far as we go, what we want to say is we're a good team on the first day, but we're a whole lot better on the last day. Our goal is to constantly improve as baseball players.”
