Scott Hood
OK/MO/KS/ARK Assistant Scouting Director

Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma and the BBA Titans teamed up together for a Scout Day earlier this month at Union High School featuring players from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 classes.  Today we take a look at the top performers for those who signed up across the traditional show case metrics.  Full event stats and details can be found by clicking here.

The top fastball from the event belonged to 2023 Landon Flusche out of Broken Arrow reaching 90 mph.  The right hander has made steady improvements to his game each time we see him and is starting to match the stuff with the competitiveness we see on the mound during games.  Tatum Hayworth also showed off some arm strength reaching 85 mph in the bullpen setting as well as showing advanced feel for spinning the breaking ball.  Bryce Ashlock came in right behind him at 84 mph in the 2023 class.  The top fastball velo from the 2024 class came from Tulsa Union product Camden Knutson at 79 mph with Maverick Lanphear of Barnsdell leading the way for the 2025's at 81 mph.

The top 60 time from the event belonged to Grayson Childers at 6.78 seconds.  Childers has long been a performer with the bat and is showing increasingly better speed year over year.  Ashlock came in right behind him at 6.97 seconds and Sam Slagle from Edison rolled in at 7.04.  The top 60 time for the 2024's belonged to Cole Smith of Skiatook at 7.15 seconds and Maverick Lanphear once again leading the way for the 2025's at 7.08 seconds.

The top exit velocity from the day off the tee belonged to Jaxon Gregory of Broken Arrow HS at 91 mph.  Gregory has a real feel for the barrel at the plate and showed off his strength at contact leading the way for the event.  Childers was right behind him at 90 mph and Ashlock at 89 mph.  Both Reace Martinez and Drew Gilleland led the way for the 2024 class both reaching 84 mph and it was Carter Martinez and Hunter DeHues both topping the charts for the 2025 class at 85 mph.

In the infield it was Childers and Tatum Hayworth having the top infield arms for the 2023's reaching 79 mph across the diamond.  Grady Oliver led the way for the 2024's at 80 mph and Easton Olenberger topping the charts for the 2025's at 75 mph.  In the outfield it was Bryce Ashlock showing off the arm strength for an event best 89 mph.  Reace Martinez led the way for the 2024's at 77 mph and Maverick Lanphear coming in for a 2025 best of 85 mph.  Behind the plate it was Asher Streater in the 2025 class showing off and impressive pop time range of 1.94-2.00.  Maverick Lanphear also beat the 2.0 mark with pop times as quick as 1.97 and 2024 Owasso catcher Mason Figueroa coming in at 1.99 seconds.
