5280 Spotlight Camden Ross

Mike Anderson
Colorado Scouting Director

We start our 5280 Spotlight series by highlighting our Colorado players who are elevating their game.  The 2022 Colorado class continues to impress. 15 players have committed to D1 programs and so many more remain Uncommitted and under the radar.  The Colorado off-season can produce some eye popping results in development.  Let’s start with a some past PBR Colorado Future Games team members:

Positional Profile: C/1B
Body:  6’1”  191
Run: 4.31 Home to 1st
Hit: Parallel shoulder width base. Stride is independent of weight transfer. Hip slide to a 50/50 distribution at launch. Hands have movement down and back. Rear Side Acceleration is great, in sync. Hands direct path, with slight lift and extended follow through. Attacking approach with purpose and balance.  Exit Velo 92 Plus Contact in event round. Would consider Camden as a top follow in the 2022 Class as Hitter and Catcher
Power:  Yes.  Demonstrated Bat speed/strength and continued development would give Camden great potential for future power.
Arm: Catcher Velo:  74 Pop 2.0 Plus arm speed
Defense: Good movements to block with positive tilt. Great set up, confident hands. Some momentum to 3B on throw. Quick feet, aggressive. Potential

10/11/19

6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher, strong, durable frame, a vocal leader on the field behind the dish. Defensively, uses his frame well to block and keep the ball in front, above average arm strength, ball comes out from a ¾ slot, plays his tail well. Offensively, shoulder width apart open setup, double tap stride has length to it, hands drop and load back into a relaxed position. Takes a line drive middle approach, barrel works level through the zone, with more loft in swing will be able to drive the ball gap-to-gap.
