32 Teams In Four Classes Head To State Tournament

Games have been played. The glory of victory; the agony of defeat. Thirty two teams have punched their ticket and are heading to Principal Park in Des Moines, IA to fight for a State Championship in four classes.
The 1A field is led by #1 seed Mason City Newman Catholic with a record of 34-3. They will take on B-G-M, Brooklyn; the #8 seed at 11 a.m. Friday to open tournament action. The other teams in the field are #2 Twin Cedars-Bussey, #3 Lemars Gehlen Catholic, #4 Don Bosco-Gilbertville, #5 Martensdale St. Mary's, #6 Lone Tree and #7 seed Underwood. CLASS 1A TOURNAMENT BRACKET
2A will begin play on Monday, July 28th, at noon. #1 seed North Polk-Alleman will take on Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto to kick-off 2A action. North Polk-Alleman enters the tournament with an overall record of 29-5. The other teams in the field are #2 Dyersville Beckman Catholic, #3 Van Meter, #4 South Winneshiek-Calmar, #5 Roland-Story, #6 Iowa City Regina and #7 Hinton. CLASS 2A TOURNAMENT BRACKET
Waverly-Shell Rock enters the 3A field as the #1 seed. WSR has an overall record of 35-2. They match up with #8 Solon on Tuesday, July 29th, at noon. Also fighting for the title will be #2 Sergeant Bluff-Luton, #3 Fairfield, #4 Harlan, #5 Davenport Assumption, #6 Dallas Center-Grimes and #7 Algona. CLASS 3A TOURNAMENT BRACKET
Finishing first round action will be the 4A field on Wednesday. The 4A tournament will open at noon with #1 Waukee taking on #8 Johnston. Waukee brings a record of 35-4 into the tournament. Also in the field are #2 Dubuque Hempstead, #3 Cedar Rapids Kennedy, #4 Iowa City West, #5 Dowling Catholic, #6 Southeast Polk and #7 W. Des Moines Valley. CLASS 4A TOURNAMENT BRACKET
