2020 Uncommitted Spotlight: LHP/OF Gavin Marrero

Spring 2020:
Beginning to show a more mature frame. Numbers have significantly increased over the last year. Moves well defensively with a loose arm to back it up from all outfield spots. Projects more on the mound as a LHP. FB velo has been up to 86 mph this winter with HS team. Beginning to see increases with more strength. 

10/21/18 - 7.28 60, OF: 75, Exit Velo: 78
5-10, 150-pound outfielder showed an intriguing all-around skillset.  Medium, athletic frame w/ some well-proportioned lean strength, projectable.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into stride to square and proper hand load.  Learning to get lower half consistently involved in every swing, occasionally appears to just throw his arms at the baseball.  When synced up, shows ability to find barrels w/ some bat speed.  Line drives to all fields when right.  Gap power type.  Defensively, moves well in the OF w/ projectable carry to target arm strength.

8/11/18 - 60 Time: 7.50, Position Velocity:  OF-81, Exit Velocity: 80
5-foot-10, 148-pound, LHH showed intriguing all-around skill-set.  Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength, super projectable.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, very slightly crouched stance w/ hand and lower half rhythm into bat tap, stride to square and proper load.  Lot of moving parts, but gets to where he needs to get to go.  All fields, line drive oriented hitter w/ tools to hit including still head and proper path.  Learning to get lower half consistently involved, tends to just be along for the ride.  Projectable gap power type.  Defensively, moves well in the OF w/ carry to target arm strength.
