Scouting Report

Woody came in looking much more physical and his numbers backed that up. In a little less than 6 months, he has made a 6 MPH jump. His fastball was up to 88 from a high 3/4 arm slot, sitting mostly 85-87 from the left side, with good downhill plane. He spun the ball well with a hard slider at 75-78.

Starts an open stance, striding closed. Simple set up and load with a middle approach. Hands work well but lower half limits rotation causing him to pull off the ball occasionally. Arm strength was 88 from the outfield, using a crow hop to get momentum to home. Exit velo was 88 MPH.
