2020 FL Preseason All-State Spotlight: Connor Moore

Rocco Iervasi
Florida Director of Operations/Area Scout

Preseason All-State has quickly become the top Preseason event in the state of Florida. Last year’s event consisted of over 50 committed players and 2 players who were selected in the 2019 MLB Draft. This event is held for the top 2020s-2023s throughout the state to kick off the Prep Baseball Report's spring high school baseball coverage.

We will continue to spotlight many of the top players who will be in attendance at this year’s Preseason All-State. Today, we look at 2021 SS Connor Moore (St. John's Country Day). The Florida State commit is currently ranked 31st in our Florida Class of 2021 rankings and 218th in our National Class of 2021 rankings.

Scouting Report

2/12/19

Florida State recruit. The athletic 6-foot, 170 pound middle infielder was one of the more impressive defenders on the day. He has natural bounce in his step, quick, easy lateral agility. Under control, but works fast while keeping feet and hands in sync. Overall has the actions to be a potential plus defender. Offensively, he has an early separation while can create some length at times. The hands are loose and bat has natural whip. Swing will become more compact with strength and maturity and has present bat speed that should develop into gap to gap power. Overall, a potential plus defender with a high offensive ceiling.
