2019 Uncommitted Arms

Shooter Hunt
National Crosschecker

As the spring season begins, the once wide-eyed, young 2019 class will be playing in its junior season, and knocking on the door of the “draft summer.” Before sending them on their way to being “upperclassmen”, On the Hunt takes a look at five uncommitted pitchers that college coaches will want to follow throughout the spring. The five are joined by two committed standouts from the PBR New England Procase. Each of the arms on this list has a high upside that could help a program at the next level. Although the 2019 class will not be featured in On the Hunt moving forward, it will be taking center stage in the In the Weeds columns that you can find
HERE. Player’s in this week’s On the Hunt hail from Arizona, Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Rhode Island.

Logan Glass OF / RHP / Mustang, OK / 2019

The 100 mph that Glass is able to produce on throws from the outfield is absolutely jaw-dropping. The square-shouldered, long-limbed, 6-foot-4, 198-pound right-hander has the strongest, pure arm strength in the 2019 class. Still showing some signs of filling into his already proportionally strong frame, Glass’s big arm has continued to allow him to make strides on the mound. At a recent PBR Oklahoma event, Glass ran his fastball up to 91 mph in a bullpen setting. There is no stop in his clean, medium-sized arm swing which releases out of a high ¾ window. His delivery is simple with a down and out leg drive that allows his arm to work cleanly. Still becoming more comfortable on the mound, Glass’ curveball shows sharp break at times at 74-76 with 11/5 break. He also showcases a changeup at 78-81. Overall, there is plenty to like about Glass including his premier arm strength and athleticism, and given the chance to continue progressing, some school may reap a bountiful reward.
