OVERVIEW:

The Gators always seem to reload and 2019 is no different. No stranger to draft talk with its recruiting class, Florida has one of the premier hitters in the country in Greene, along with one of the top left-handed pitchers in Barco. The highly-touted Fabian and Crisp have declared their intent to enroll early this spring, so both should gain valuable experience. Fabian’s powerful right-handed bat and advanced athleticism made him a potential high draft pick in 2019, so getting him to campus is a plus for the Gators. Crisp works fast with a quick arm and a low-90s fastball to go with feel for secondary offerings. Unafraid on the mound, he should provide even greater depth to an already strong bullpen in Gainesville. Allen has elite arm strength and a mid-90s fastball to go with feel for three pitches and a big, projectable frame. Both Owens and Nesbitt have quick, strong arms and have continued to make impressive advancements, showing no signs of slowing down. Rivera and Nunez could receive serious draft buzz with big spring seasons. Each has impressed on the national circuit, and flash pull side power with the ability to stick on the left side of the infield.

CLASS KEYS:
Kevin O’Sullivan and his staff at Florida have done an impressive job of getting some of the top high school draft talent to show up on campus. Their track record in developing that talent speaks for itself with a plethora of first round picks in recent years. Barco and Allan look like prime candidates to improve their draft status after three years on campus, and have the potential to give the Gators a strong one-two punch on the weekend before they’re done. Hanging onto both would be a huge.

GUT FEEL:
Mink has seen a steady increase in velocity over the past couple of years, now pitching in the low 90s, and his competitive nature will give him a chance to be on the mound in key situations out of the bullpen for the Gators throughout his career. Also, Roberts presents an intriguing two-way talent for the squad, and has a chance to make a big jump as his frame develops.
