2019 Rankings Updated
October 11, 2018
With the PBR High School Draft 100 releasing today (you can see that here), we have followed suit and updated the 2019 in-state rankings.
These rankings finalized our summer and most of our fall coverage of the class.
These rankings are compiled with internal tool grades and from conversation with many people about jumps players may have made without us seeing it in person.

A look at the top 5 with video from this spring:
Hayden Mullins LHP / 1B / Hendersonville , TN / 2019Auburn commit. Lefty was up to 93 this spring in front of handful of scouts in a big matchup against 2018 RHP Ethan Smith from Mt. Juliet and has continued his upward ascent. He has taken a step forward with consistency in the strike zone this fall and continues to show true put-away stuff. |
Maurice Hampton OF / Memphis University School, TN / 2019LSU commit. The 2-way prospect has jumped back and forth with Rushing for the 2nd spot and Hampton has come out ahead in this update on the strength of a strong East Coast Pro. The OF jumped out with his athleticism, speed and present strength and showed the ability to do things young hitters can't do often. |
Dalton Rushing C / Brighton, TN / 2019Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 1
Louisville commit. The catcher just missed getting on the Draft 100 and shows all the tools you look for in a potential draft catcher. With a frame filled w/ present strength, the catcher shows big power to all fields, soft hands to stick behind the plate and the athleticism and arm strength to pop as low as 1.97 between innings. |
John Rhodes OF / RHP / Chattanooga Christian, TN / 2019Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 2
Kentucky commit. The OF continues to stand out with his ability to generate consistent hard contact and has the profile of a prototypical RF at the next level, featuring arm strength that allowed him to pitch 85-87 this spring. |
Zane Denton 3B / 1B / Ravenwood, TN / 2019Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 1
Alabama commit. The corner infielder continues to show off his advanced bat and has shown the ability to handle impact pitching. Featuring a rare combination of high level power and knack for contact, shows the tools to be a high-level offensive player at the next level. |
