2019 Player Spotlight: David Giorgis




Scouting Report

9.25.17:  Giorgis is 6-1 with an athletic frame and stronger lower half. He hits from the right side from an upright balanced stance. Strides on line, loads back. Explosive lower half with some balance to his swing. Short and quick to the ball, works slightly uphill through it, good extension. Line drive hitter with some power potential, exit velocity was 85. Behind the plate, quick clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short loose arm action. Pop times were 2.00-2.13 and position velocity was 75. Throws had some carry and accuracy. Works under ball well when receiving, shows ability to move frame well into lateral blocks.

6.25.17: Giorgis has an athletic frame with a strong lower half. Hits from the right side has some batspeed. Good approach, uses the whole field, quick line drive swing with easy doubles power, potential for more. Behind the plate, blocks and receives well. Exchange can be tightened up, arm is loose with some potential. Threw a 2.22 in game pop, ranged 2.28-2.34 between innings, was 70 on his position velocity.
