2019 Player Spotlight: Cameron Karicher




Scouting Report

9.25.17:  Karicher is 5-11 with an athletic frame, he hits from the right side from a taller athletic stance. Strides on line, loads down, some rhythm to swing. Hips rotate completely, some balance to swing. Level line drive swing, some quickness to the ball, works best working gap to gap, gets a bit uphill to pull side, exit velocity was 80. At short, active feet, works around ball, fields with average hands. Plays through the ball, clean exchange. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot, shorter loose arm action with recoil, infield velocity was 78. Ran a 7.26 60 yard dash. On the mound, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short quick whippy arm action, some effort to his delivery. Shoulders uphill and slightly closed, lands closed with a hard fall off finish and some recoil. Fastball was 76-79 with some boring action to it. Curveball has hard 11/5 break and good armspeed, running 66-67. Change-up has fading action and good armspeed at 74.

7.31.16:  Karicher has an athletic frame. Good side to side blocker and solid receiver. Short, loose arm action with an above average arm. Release is clean and should speed up as he develops. Pop times 2.25-2.34, 2.09 from his knees, with consistent accuracy. Aggressive back picking with a quick release. Hits from the right side. Strides open, ok hips, backside collapses a bit. Short to the ball with good extension through it, pull approach with easy doubles power and potential for more. Above average batspeed. Good baserunner, not slow, 4.62 home to first.
