Season Outlook
Coach Helm has 318 wins in 17 seasons at Maize High School. He has led the Eagles to the state playoffs in 13 season, winning the state championship three times, and taking second four times. Maize has had 31 players sign NCAA D1 National Letters of Intent and has sent 124 players into college baseball programs science 1989. In 2016, the Eagles will rely on their talented junior class to get the program back into the state playoff. Junior RHP Johnny McIntyre will be among the group of juniors. The Eagles will also feature a pair of seniors will college commitment in OF Brandon Teter (Independence) and C Jake Karst (Johnson County). Maize has the ability to a good situational hitting team, finding ways to score easy runs, while developing a staff to keep them in ball games.
