The standout sophomore showed a strong all-around game with a maturity and leadership skills beyond his years. Advanced framer and blocker behind the plate, consistently stealing strikes and preventing the extra base. Flashed sub-2 second pop times. Stays in strong lower half in balanced setup at the plate and through swing. Short hand path, creates loft at contact with bend in levers. Longer finish. One of the more impressive prospects seen this spring in the PNW.

Lake Oswego vs. Tualatin (5.1.24)
Lake Oswego
'25 RHP Harrison Smith, Uncommitted
The uncommitted junior had a stellar outing against an experienced Tualatin lineup. After working around some early traffic on the bases, Smith settled in and consistently got ahead of hitters and induced contact early in counts en route to a CG shuout. Moves the FB around the zone at 80-83 with a slurve shaped SL in the upper 60s.

Physically possesses great size for C with functional athleticism and quality mobility. Hits with a balanced, simple approach and few moving parts. Allows the hands to work freely & he can impact the baseball with easy effort. Controlled the game well behind the dish.

Smith had a 1-4 day at the plate while playing a defensively stout game at SS throughout. Lean, wiry athlete with loose, fluid actions. Keeps feet underneath him while moving laterally and has a clean exchange into throwing motion. Momentum stays behind the throw from a tight, compact arm action.
More from yesterday between Tualatin and Lake Oswego…

'24 RHP Nolan McCormack, Mt. Hood CC Commit
McCormack continues to have a consistent senior campaign with impressive outings each time he toes the rubber. Took the hard luck loss in this one allowing only 2 unearned runs in 6 innings while striking out 11. The tall projectable rightly combines present stuff with pitchability and still offers the promise of another jump with his pure stuff as he grows into his frame.

Uncommitted left-handed bat with above average arm strength from the OF. Buck flashed the power and bat speed in his 2nd AB with a scorching 2B to the LCF gap. Strong and connected at the point of contact, the ball jumps off the barrel when he connects and he has some of the best power potential remaining in the class
