Spring Future Games Trials III: Hitting Data Dive

On Monday, May 20th the Prep Baseball Ontario staff hosted it's third and final Spring Future Games Trials (III) at Connorvale Park in Toronto, Ontario. Future Games Trials serve as an opportunity for players who are age-eligible for our two premiere team's heading to LakePoint in late July for the annual Future Games event... Future Games (2026/2027) and Senior Future Games (2025).
This event featured roughly 20 positional players or two-way prospects from the across the province in the 2025 - 2027 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players, as well as collect updated metrics via our tech partner TrackMan.
Earlier this week, we broke down the top measurable data performers from the event with our Statistical Analysis and Pitching Data Dive. Now, we conclude our post-event coverage within this Hitting Data Dive article as we take a look at the top Trackman hitting data:

TRACKMAN
EXIT VELOCITY (MAX)
EXIT VELOCITY (AVG.)
Exit Velocity: This metric measures the speed of the ball, measured in miles per hour, as it comes off the bat at the moment of contact.
BATTED BALL DISTANCE (MAX)
BATTED BALL DISTANCE (AVG.)
Distance: This metric measures how far the ball traveled, or would travel if it was not obstructed, measured in feet.
HARD HIT %
Hard Hit %: Percentage of batted balls with an exit velocity of 90 MPH or higher.
SWEET SPOT %
Sweet Spot percentage: This metric is determined by how often the player produces a batted ball during the session with a launch angle between 8 to 32 degrees.
LINE DRIVE %
Line Drive % - Percentage of line drives hit during a given set of batted ball events. Trackman defines a line drive as any batted ball with a launch angle between 10 degrees and 24.9 degrees.
