2025 Uncommitted Spotlight: OF/LHP Cole Gideon

With the summer coming to a close and we begin to transition to the fall with a brand-new school year, our focus is still on uncommitted prospects in the Classes of 2025 and 2026. As these prospects enter their final two years of high school, there are still many talented upperclassmen still on the market that may have been "overlooked" or are currently "flying under the radar" and looking for a place to play at the next level.

Cole Gideon, Jackson Prep (MS), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-10, 180-pounds. Proportional frame, some strength throughout.
Delivery: Works well in line to the plate.
Arm Action: LH. Shorter arm strike, higher 3/4 slot.
FB: T78, 75-77 mph. 2-seam showed late arm side life, cut the 4-seam at times. T2175, 2084 average rpm.
CB: 66-68 mph. Located well to the gloveside, thrown with confidence. T1824, 1726 average rpm.
CH: 68-71 mph. Mostly straight but a solid secondary pitch. Killed the spin, creating tumble. Stayed away from RH hitters. T1922, 1807 average rpm.
ATH: 7.25 runner in the 60. 1.80 and 4.05 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 28.00 max vertical.

Body: 5-10, 180-pounds. Proportional frame, some strength throughout.
Hit: RHH. Taller, slightly open stance. Hands set high in the stance. Pullside juice. Stays on contact very well. Explosive bat speed. 74.3 mph bat speed with 20 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 97 max exit velocity, averaged 93.7 mph. 361' max distance.
Arm: LH. OF-77 mph. High 3/4 slot.
Defense: Feet work well, attacks the ball well.
ATH: 7.25 runner in the 60. 1.80 and 4.05 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 28.00 max vertical.

Body: 6-0, 175-pounds. Proportional, leaner and athletic look.
Delivery: Smooth tempo and good direction into release. Fairly controlled throughout delivery
Arm Action: LH. Long arm action.
FB: T79, 77-79 mph. Solid feel for fastball and stays in the zone. Good arm side run. T2006, 1949 average rpm.
CB: 68-69 mph. Developing spin with feel for pitch. T1889, 1857 average rpm.
