Uncommitted Spotlight: 2025 Brecken Bordelon

6'1" 170 lbs. athletic and lean frame. Bordelon showed well defensively against Acadiana last Thursday that included a 6-U double play in the 2nd inning. At the plate, he went hitless on the afternoon, but did have a nice swing in his first at-bat, lining out to the left fielder. He's a good uncommitted junior in the state's 2025 class for recruiters to circle to see this spring, now that we are in the month of March.

Body: 6-1, 165-pounds. Athletic and lean.
Hit: RHH. Upright and slightly open stance, hands held above shoulder height with bat head laid back behind his back shoulder, sinks into his back hip during a simple load and stride. Hands stay high during and after load and he takes them down to the ball to contact and works flat through extension with a two-handed finish, present bat speed and showed increased strength in this look, especially to the pull-side. 60.5 mph bat speed with 13 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 89 max exit velocity, averaged 79.3 mph. 299' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-82 mph. OF-86 mph. Short, compact arm stroke with a 3/4 release.
Defense: Good athlete who showed well in the OF and infield, good jumps and reads off the bat, understands how to play through the ball with athletic footwork and showed increased arm strength.
ATH: 7.77 runner in the 60. 1.83 and 4.25 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Delivery: Starts on 1B side of rubber and stays there throughout an athletic delivery, strides on line and finishes square to his target.
Arm Action: RH. Compact, clean arm stroke with a high 3/4 release.
FB: T83, 81-82 mph. Some life through the zone, commands well to glove-side. T2570, 2446 average rpm.
CB: 73-74 mph. Sharp "12-6" shape with late downward bite. T2794, 2732 average rpm.
CH: 77-77 mph. Arm-side run and sink, firmer. T2189, 2189 average rpm.

Hit: RHH. Upright and balanced stance with hands held above shoulder height, tilts the knob back down to the catch during a simple load and stride. Hands work in a steeper and direct path down to contact with uphill extension and a one-handed finish, stays balanced from start to finish, hit the ball well up the middle and to the opposite field gap, collected a couple of hits on Sunday in gameplay, including a double to the pull-side. 59.6 mph bat speed with 12 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 76.9 mph. 315' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-79 mph. Longer arm stroke with a near OTT release.
Defense: Starts a little higher and then sinks down into his lower half to receive the ball out front with two hands, funnels into the middle of his body, looked more comfortable playing with two hands, moves well to left and right as well.
ATH: 7.28 runner in the 60. 1.75 and 4.05 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
