With the 2024 Kansas high school baseball season wrapping up last week, it is time to announce our 2024 Prep Baseball Kansas Player of the Year. Last year, Olathe South's Nick English took home Player of the Year honors in the state of Kansas. This year, the award goes to OF Eli Lovich, a Arkansas signee and the number two prospect in the 2024 class in Kansas.

2024 Prep Baseball Kansas Player of the Year

After starting off the year with a standout performance at our Super 60 Pro Showcase, our 2024 Kansas Player of the Year OF Eli Lovich carried that momentum into the high school season, leading Blue Valley West to a second place finish in 6A after playing a leading role in back to back state titles the previous two years. Standing at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds, Lovich holds considerable projectablity that has been garnering MLB draft buzz all year long. With a smooth, adjustable swing and a mature approach in the box, Lovich posted a .414 average with 8 doubles, 6 triples, 5 home runs, 36 RBIs, 37 runs scored, 15 walks. Aided by his athleticism and 6.71 60 time, Lovich swiped also 15 bags on 16 attempts and covered ground with ease as a strong defender in right field.

Lovich's most memorable performance of the year came when it mattered most. Down 5-0 to Shawnee Mission East in the state semifinals, the senior launched a no doubt two run home run to right and followed it up with a bases clearing three RBI double later in the game to lead the Jaguars on to a third consecutive state championship with a 5 RBI performance and cementing him as our Player of the Year.

Congratulations to Eli Lovich on winning our 2024 Prep Baseball Kansas Player of the Year Award!
