Below are some notable performances as observed by our scouting staff from the Prep Baseball Iowa Upper Midwest Slugfest.

MINNESOTA BLIZZARD

+ Carter Daluge (2028, 1B/LHP, Andover) with some funk to his profile. The six-foot lefty comes at hitters from a low 3/4 slot and heavy sink (FB 72-74 asr). Offensively, showed present strength and athleticism in the box. Should be a player to watch.
+ Evan Grove (2026, RHP/3B, Orono) was 80-83 with the fastball and had a curveball that had sweep action with depth. Decent mover, uses lower half well. Should be capable of adding more velo.
+ Jackson Kolb (2027, LHP, White Bear Lake) was 80-83 while showing the ability to ramp it up to 84-85 when needed. Landed a breaking ball for strikes and swing/miss.

Jackson Kolb, September 21, 2024

+ Mark Susa (2027, LHP, Hudson) is a smooth mover with a shorter arm action. A lot of projectable length to his frame. Worked a three-pitch mix around the zone. No. 26 in WI's 2027s.
+ Oscar Waisanen (2027, SS/RHP, Benilde-St. Margaret’s) with a line drive single to the pull side. Twitchy athlete at short. Solid actions. Quick release across the diamond. Was 80-82 on the mound with a crossfire delivery. No. 38 in MN’s 2027s.

BLUEHAWKS

+ Connor McFall (2026, 1B, Albia) has present size in the box. Lines this backside double over the right fielder’s head
+ Jace Mitchell (2026, OF/RHP, Ottumwa) has a longer limbed frame with projection. Has been 76-78 on the mound, records his 2nd hit with this single through the middle. Added a double to right-center later in game.

CANES IOWA

+ Grady Dettbarn (2026, RHP/SS, Marion) worked quick and had command for three pitches on the mound. Missing barrels. Also made a couple athletic plays at SS.
+ Ayden Downing (2026, RHP, Johnston) was all stretch, quick pace, and attacked hitters with confidence. FB (80-82 T83) and BB (74-76) work well off each other.
+ Adam Mein (2025, RHP, Saydel) with strong pitchability and feel for multiple pitches. Spins the ball exceptional well. Uncommitted.

Adam Mein, September 2024

+ Tate Moulton (2026, RHP/OF, Grand View Christian) drives one to the right-center gap for an RBI ground-rule double. Solid two-way potential. No. 53 in Iowa’s 2026.

CARLISLE

+ Trevor Shepard (2027, OF, Carlisle) with a line drive single to left. Quiet hands into launch, aggressive out front.

CEDAR VALLEY CRUSH

+ Ethan Clark (2027, OF, Cedar Falls) is listed at 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds. Projectable Frame. Repeatable swing. Lines one up the middle here.
+ Cade Steffen (2025, UTIL, Cedar Falls) showed an aggressive swing with projectable size in the box. Had a nice two-strike line drive 1B to pull side in this clip and added a home run in a later game. Uncommitted.
+ Carson Streeter (2026, RHP, South Winneshiek) with smooth actions and clean arm on the mound. Strong build. Fastball was 80-83 with life. Late slider gets s/m. Change with fade. Filled the zone. Interesting follow.

+ Brooks Vosburg (2027, MIF/RHP, Grinnell) is a lean, uptempo mover. Whippiness to the arm, run on the fastball (77-79).

IOWA OAKS

+ McCabe Hukee (2028, SS/RHP, Valley) stayed in the zone with a fastball (78-80) and slurvy breaking ball. Short, quick arm and has a rapid pace on the mound. Interesting prospect.

IOWA PROSPECTS

+ Michael Wiechmann (2026, LHP, Ballard) with raw movements, slender body, more in the frame. Attacked hitters with FB early (78-81 T282), mixed second time through. Kept hitters off balance (CB 71-72, CH 69-70).
+ Drew Owen (2025, OF/RHP, North Polk) Table setter. Present strength moves well. Good routes in CF. Multiple extra base hits in the tournament, was also up to 86 on the mound. Recent DMACC commit.

ITB

+ Seamus Devine (2025, RHP, Durant) rotates hard into this one for a ground rule double. Listed as a pitcher, Devine had multiple strong at-bats proving that he's capable of being an all-around athlete.
+ Tavian Soppe (2026, 1B, Linn-Mar) launched an RBI double to left. Large, physical frame. Definitely has strength to the pull side, added a ground rule double to the left-center gap in later at-bat.

PLOVER ELITE

+ Jayden Suehs (2027, RHP, Stevens Point) is listed at 6-foot-11 and that height presents a unique challenge to his peers in the batters box. Fastball was 70-73 but it is not hard to envision making a signficiant jump if he can add mass to that frame.

TOP TIER IOWA

+ Silas Cobb (2027, MIF, Clear Creek Amana) keeps his hands in and drives this pitch to left for a double. The 6-foot-1 frame has plenty of projectability in it.
+ Carsen DeKeyrel (2026, LHP, Rockridge) is an athletic mover, easy of out the hand. Went right at hitters. Lots of strikeouts. Ranked 95th in Illinois' 2026s.
+ Ryley Lawler (2026, Dubuque) has a strong build and high 3/4 release. Stretch only. Tunnels the high fastball (77-79 T80) and curveball (68-69) combo well. Ranked 78th in class.
