The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 SS/OF/RHP Trevor Banning from Santa Margarita Catholic High School. Banning is an athletic 6' 180 lbs. versatile prospect in the '25 class who has several different tool sets to keep eyes on. As a switch hitter he shows a natural pure LH swing with feel to hit from a line drive plane that work the middle to pull side of the field with consistent hard contact. He profiles to hit for more power from the RH side with strength through contact and a little more feel to lift the baseball, but may come less potential to hit from this side. He shows off arm strength from the OF reaching 92 MPH with carry and accuracy that would play in RF, but his actions on the INF dirt with arm strength profiles as a left side of the dirt defender who can flash potentially above average ability. Adds in a mid 80's FB that will touch 87 with a sharp 73-76 MPH CB which has swing/miss action to it and the intent in his delivery to be a solid bullpen piece. Banning's versatility defensively, feel to hit from the LH side with power potential from the RH side while having realistic ability to add depth to a bullpen should have college programs following him this spring through the rigorous Trinity League schedule into the summer circuit for their '25 class.

College coaches and fans be sure to click on Banning's profile to see full video and statistics.
