Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 OF Evan Hall from San Marcos High School. With a leaner athletic frame at 6' 180 lbs Hall has flashed athleticism in his actions while displaying a solid RH hitting offensive profile and put together a very strong performance at the 2023 SoCal Preseason All State Upperclass event. Hall shows present athleticism with an emerging run tool including a 7.12 60 time while adding a solid top end run speed of 19.5 MPH. Hitting from the RH side Hall's swing shows well metrically quickness in his hand path (22.6 MPH hand speed) while flashing present bat speed (72.4 MPH) and the ability to use his lower 1/2 effectively in the turn with 15.9 G's of rotational acceleration. The combination of his swing metrics with a feel for his approach that was consistent during his workouts at Prep Baseball California events Hall has flashed a middle of the field approach that consistently generates hard contact (87.2 MPH average exit velocity) and on the upper end shows gap to gap doubles power with some pull side HR potential as he maxes out with a 92.8 MPH exit velocity and has shown 346' batted ball distance with room to continue adding impact and strength to his offensive profile as he matures another year ahead of college baseball. His actions are solid in the OF with quality present arm strength (85 MPH OF arm velocity) that has some potential to stay in CF long term and the ability to handle either corner OF spot. His solid offensive ability that shows an ability to add depth across the length of a lineup and shows the potential to be a premium spot defender in CF or RF, Hall should be a name that college programs are following over the summer/fall headed into his SR. season for their '25 OF class.
