Uncommitted Spotlight: '24 LHP Keisen Hayden

Steven Hardesty

The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we wind down the '23 calendar and look towards the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season by taking a look at some of the top uncommitted class of '24 athletes. This group of players is pulled directly from our '24 Rankings. They remain as the top players left on the board going into the start of their senior seasons.

We invite you to get to know them through their data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on Bear River HS '24 LHP Keisen Hayden. At 6'2 180 lbs. with some present strength to it, but room to add more as he matures. Armed with a quality mix of 4 pitches highlighted by his FB which sits 84-87 peaking at 88.6 MPH with arm side run and the ability to elevate it for swing and miss. Hayden uses a CB/SLD/CHG offspeed mix. The CHG pairs well with his FB working in the 72-76 MPH range with arm side fade and he kills the spin coming in around 1800 RPM range. CB has some depth to it in the 69-72 MPH range while adding in a 73-75 MPH SLD. The delivery is repeatable with good body control. Hayden stays online with his lower 1/2 with good use of his hips and the arm path is clean with good arm speed.  There looks to be starter potential with the pitch mix, delivery, frame and ability to control the strike zone with a floor of being a potential leverage inning LH reliever at the next level.
