NORTHERN CALIFORNIA - Last week I had my eyes on two high end LHPs, 2022 Jordan Jacobson of Del Campo HS (Fair Oaks) as they took on previously undefeated Cosumnes Oaks HS (Elk Grove) on 4/14/21, followed by 2023 LHP/1B Nolan Stevens of Franklin HS (Elk Grove) as they traveled to Davis to take in the Davis Blue Devils.

Del Campo defeated Cosumnes Oaks as Jacobson threw a CG, while Franklin also won, with Stevens twirling his one CG gem. Both players are presently uncommitted, though both do have opportunities they are weighing.

Here are the reports and video from those games. Some other players of note were seen, including 2021 SS/P Elvin Delic of Cosumnes Oaks (San Francisco commit) and a couple of uncommitted seniors for Franklin, 3B Tyler Tobey and SS Lucas Gibbons.

Make sure to go into the players' profiles for additional notes, stats, and metrics, and any other video we have on them.

Scouting Report

4/14/21 vs Cosumnes Oaks - Uncommitted, one of top uncommitted 2022s in California; Strong body, lean and muscular, well-proportioned, uncomplicated arm stroke, strong shoulders, shallow backside arm action, gets to overhand release, powerful stride, went 7 IP, 12 K, 1 BB, 4 H, 1 R, dominant outing vs previously undefeated team, FB 85-88 and still had 86-87 in 7th inning, at times heavy arm side action w/ability to also ride it up and away and gets swings, showed tight short SL (78-80 mph) with ability to power it under RHH bats, outstanding CHG (81-82 mph) with feel and downward life, got many swings at CHG which complements his FB quite well, finished the CHG with conviction, EXCELLENT fielder of his position and showed it on a slow roller along 3B line and on a comebacker to start a 1-6-3, very accurate to bases, outstanding athlete also hitting in 3-spot.
