8/10/14 Slates made several sports center caliber plays defensively in game action during the course of the event. The 5-foot-8, 170-pound uncommitted senior displayed a quick release and a fluid transition with a 71 mph arm across the diamond. Slates displayed the ability to routinely square the baseball during batting practice from a slightly closed stance. The right-handed hitter used all fields and registered a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Slates went 1-for-5 at the plate in game action over the course of the two day event.
