Committed to Northwestern to play Football
VA/DC Scout Blog
Athletic quick twitch player standing around 6-foot. Defensively, hands were above average, but showed the range and quick release to play the left side. Very fluid movements and a short arm action with accurate throws. He moves very easy and is extremely quick out of the box, putting his speed on display on multiple occasions. Square stance at the plate with very simple efficient pre-pitch movements. Short to the ball with an uphill finish, showed some gap to gap power and ability to use the whole field. Had multiple deep at bats on the day where he showed an advanced approach as the count moved along. Had a different gear at times on the bases and is a definite high level athlete.
3.21.17: A lankier, projectable frame with room to fill out. Hits from a simple square set up at the plate. Smooth load, short swing path with some bat speed and surprising pop in swing. Used whole field well at the plate. Hands worked well. Athletic actions in the field with soft hands and clean exchange. Two sport athlete who also is a corner/quarterback for football. Impressive middle infield prospect in the freshmen class.
3.19.16: Williams is just an eighth grader but looked like he belonged on the field playing second base next to Angstadt. He has a lanky frame and good actions, with a ton of natural athleticism. He has good hands at the plate and decent bat speed. Defensively, he has soft hands. On the mound, he threw from a three-quarters arm slot and had a quick, loose arm action, generating velocity with easy effort.
