7.14.15 Hits from a balanced stance that was crouched slightly. Smooth load back with an arm bar. Short stride the stayed on line. Did not use the lower half. Maintained good balance throughout the swing. Took a good approach to the round with a fluid rhythm. Showed outstanding bat speed with an exit velocity of 87 mph. Short/level bat path with extension. Has a line drive/gap-to-gap stroke. Aggressively moved the barrel through the zone. Stayed behind the ball very well. Behind the plate, threw from a high three-quarter arm slot with a short arm action. Showed some accuracy. Throws had some carry. Showed athletic footwork with soft hands. Exchanges were clean but inconsistent. Has the make up to be a good receiver. Had a position velocity of 76 mph. Pop times work 2.02–2.13.

6.13.15:  Phillips has some juice and his swing is built to pull as he steps in the bucket a bit. He has gap or better power to his pull side. At third base, he is an athletic defender who has very good first step quickness and a strong arm.

2/15/15:  Hit from a balanced stance with bent knees.  Pushes hands back in the load causing a bar and some wrap.  Took a short/medium stride and came off of his backside.  Stayed on line.  Had balance.  Took a good approach and had a somewhat rigid rhythm.  Had a level bat path with some length.  Line drive stroke.  Hands drag a bit due to the arm bar/wrap but are strong.  Had an Exit Velocity of 86 mph.  Behind the plate, threw from a high ¾ arm slot that was short and loose.  Throws were accurate and had some carry.  Feet were quick and fluid.  Traditional two hand catcher.  Bare hand tracked the glove well in the secondary stance.  Transfers were quick.  Showed soft hands receiving.  Pop times were 1.97-2.19.  Positional Velocity was 72 mph.
