Cape Cod: A power/speed combo talent, Trice is a 65-grade runner who is able to get to his speed in the game. He blazed down the line from the right side to first base at 3.81 on a bunt base hit against Y-D and he also stole 18 bags in 22 attempts the past spring for ODU. His raw power grades out as above average, showing more to his pull side than the opposite field. He's also able to get to this juice in the game, producing six doubles, five home runs and a slugging of .421 this summer. However, with a pull approach at the plate, Trice will need to cut down on his Cape strikeout rate (28%) and 2022 spring rate (24%) in order to become a top round draft pick next summer.

Cape Cod- Joined Cotuit after an early summer stint with the USA CNT. His summer slash (.213/.309/.340) for the Kettlers bore little resemblance to the outstanding .355/.426/.632 line he produced this past spring as a true freshman for the Monarchs. During my respective looks with the CNT and Cotuit, Trice had effort to his swing and marginal bat speed. He also ran in the 4.40-4.45 range down the line, but moved closer to average underway. On the dirt defensively, he showed fair actions with fair hands and a below average arm with a funky throwing motion that produced below average accuracy across the diamond.

One of the more complete Richmond area athletes, especially in the 2020 class. The 6-foot ODU commit hits from the right side with a square stance, hands load back in rhythm with a small leg kick, and stride landing on line. Short to the ball with a slightly uphill path, head stays behind contact, and maintains balance throughout. Lower half has some aggression and Trice does not get cheated on his swings. Present pull-side power with power potential to all fields. Defensively has the range and ability to play a variety of infield positions, as well as elite arm strength across the field.

PreSeason All-State I
6-foot, 185-pound strong athletic frame. Had an impressive day as he showed big time progression across the board, as he has added strength to a projectable frame. Starts with a narrow upright stance with a low leg lift, strides towards the pitcher landing square with hands back in a strong position and a slight arm bar. Hands showed quickness and strength through the zone with an uphill path and uphill finish. Lower half finishes with some aggression and the exit velo was 97 mph. Feet were active on approach approaching outside and presenting glove out front with soft hands and a clean exchange. Average arm circle with elite arm speed and velocity at 94 mph. Home-1st was 4.12.

Great to see the young and talented Trice again. Progressing very well and is filling out his projectable frame. At the plate he hits from an athletic set up. Direcct to the ball with his hands and nice control of barrel. Mainly peppered middle of field in game, also did job on RBI groundout. Showed his strength to right center, but can turn on ball as well. Defensively shows sound actions with good hands and arm strength. Showed ability to throw from multiple angles.

Preseason All-State
Trice is 6-0 with an athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it, he hits from the right side from an upright relaxed balanced stance. Short leg kick stride on line, smooth load back, good rhythm to swing, explosive hips with good balance to swing. Very short quick stroke, gets to contact quickly with some extension through the ball. Level line drive swing produces gap power with potential for more, showed good approach working gap to gap, exit velocity was 92. In the infield, clean feet, rounds the ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands. Clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, shorter arm action strong arm with easier effort, infield velocity was 90. Home to first was 4.32.
6.27.17: Trice is 6-0 with a lankier athletic frame, he hits from the right side from an open athletic stance.
